New Wolf Joins the Fang

I do prefer always having at least one melta pack for those pesky tanks that stick to their deployment zones or avoid my LFs' line of sight. But I do agree your strat may benefit from a plasma pack.

So if I take 1 plasma pack, that leaves me with 5 points for either

1) Wolf Tail Talisman on Rune Priest

2) Melta Bombs / Combi-plasma on third Wolf Guard

3) Storm Bolters on Rune Priest / Wolf Guard

4) Flamer for Long Fang Sgt.

5) Replace other Melta with more Plasma.

Right now the Combi-Plasma is looking pretty tasty, but there is something about a surprise flamer in the Long Fang Squad that just screams awesome.

the flamer in the long fang pack(we don't use squads) may sound cool, but will rarely get used since you're mot likely better of to stand and fire into the upcoming threat with the missile launchers than to run forwaqrd and try to roast as many as you can.

i'd go more plasma

I was paraphrasing Prospero Burns. Not really apologizing :P

definetly dozerblades

i just noticed you didn't pick two power for yourrunepriest either.

I left the powers out, because I have never used a Rune Priest, and still need to test all the powers out. Was thinking JOTWW and Living Lightning. Any thoughts?

(*hic* thats pretty goooooood ale ye got therrrrreeee....you wanna wrestle....*hic*)

Slides the pup another one and smiles

Thanks again guys.

Im having such a hard time choosing a colour scheme. Got so many good ones / potential. But constantly jumping between blue and grey. Then jumping between

metallic and non-metallic. Also between drybrushing vs highlighting. I just want to get on a table and start slaying!!!! AAAAAAAARRRRGGG >:C

I'll post some picks of my potential colours

My first attempt was to try the old school ice blue wolves like those on DoW.

I then tried a boltgun metal version of the wolves, but it had the same problem as grey space wolves. Yellow = ugly

and without pack markings they kinda looked like grey knights. But the armor did look awesome and weathered.

I then mixed 50/50 The Fang / Runefang Steel and came up with this....

but what I actually want is....

The more I look at these the more I prefer the drybrushed look of my first attempt. Maybe I should just join the Dark Grey Side

Any Advice?

Try out the foundation paint "Adeptus Battle Grey" or whatever it's been re-named too, as a base coat. Then perhaps codex/fortress grey as a dry brush? That will make you're yellows and reds pop allot more.

My models go AdeptusBG - Drybrushed Codex Grey - Badab Black Wash - Drybrushed Space Wolves Grey as their bass coat.

I was going for the same colour scheme as you (from the front of battle for the fang) but came up with a happy compromise in this scheme.

My take on Space wolves are Abbadon Black as base coat, dawnstone grey washed with nuln black, touched up with dawnstone grey and then highlighted with administraum grey. It is hard to get yellow to work, if you get an even coat, it can look a bit to yellow, but if you wash it down with a brown wash, and do small highlights it can work, when you have done the pack markings the yellow do not shine that much any more. If you start to make battledamage and wear and tear on them the yellow will not be as bright. You could also go with a darker yellow instead of a canary yellow so they do not pop that much.

In my opinion, that terminator works very well, there is no discussion of what chapter he belongs to. Keep up the good work.
