I too like the base, maybe too much as it takes the eye away from the model :) Maybe a couple of brighter highlights on the tip and or edge of the sword and the very edges of his backpack and/or armour would draw the eye back up. (That's just me thinking about painting composition and no reflection on your obviously excellent skills). I'm with Isiah and love the choice of colour on the tabard, very cool(could also do with a tad more edge HL too). Also the nicely done leather gloves. The base was just different thicknesses and types of plasticard glued to a standard GW base, with a hold cut through to show the pipes I glued underneath. Thank you for your feedback, no matter from a master or a novice, interpretation and opinions help to make a better painter :confused: The highlights got a little muted when I varnished him I think, particularly so on the purple. Yeah I think the varnish muted the dark colours on him quite a bit, which is fine for the black, not so good for the purple and the sword. May go back soon and touch him up.
