Redeemers WIP - some pics!

Hi everyone

It's time to post what I've been up to. I stink at painting bone, so I kinda went my own way. Got inspiration from the Codex, and based my 'Redeemers' on the Deciples of Caliban scheme, somewhat. All Terminators so far. I've got 30+ but here's just a few:

Group of Command + Belial

Banner Bearer:

Terminator with TH/SS

Belial. I'm going to change the head. I just can't get the expression right.

Terminator with Dual LC

The rest:

Let me know what you think. A lot of these need cleaning up, this is still a WIP after all. Just wanted to get thoughts on the colours, etc.

Thanks for taking the time to look!

I think the white(s) can do with a thinned down (devlan mud?) wash. Makes them 'pop' more. Now they are too 'bleak', too clean. They need some kind of shade.

And Belial needs some skincolour around his eyes, so that the white gets 'smaller'. Looks decent apart from that.

I'd try that if I were you, and THEn, if you dont like it, change the head. Just fix the skin above and under the eyes and you're good.

Like the scheme overall, looks good.

Hope it helps!

I really like the colour scheme sox. It's very original but still says 'Dark Angel'. I'm wasn't sure about the green on the hammers and shields but it's growing on me. It looks great on the claws and sword but my first impression of the shield was that it looked a bit 'washed out'. I assume your intention is to give the hammers and shields the same crackling power field effect as the lightning claws, which is a great idea and one that I totally bottled out of on my terminators!

A brown wash would really help the skulls and scrolls. I can't praise Devlan Mud highly enough for that kind of thing.

I'm glad somebody has found a use for those terminator pads with the diagonal stripe! I have a few in my bitz box and they're just wasted parts for me.

I like the efects on weapons and shields though I must say that the army needs washes in armour to give them more 3D.

As for belial the head is good, the problem is how you painted the eyes, maybe a bit smaller and/or with more black surface... or just not painting them and use shadows in the face.

I'll take em!

All kidding aside, I need to get a better angle of these. The white bits are bleached bone washed in gryphone. I've removed the banner from the bearer and added a different one. I tried some freehand on it and ruined it. :nuke: I updated the face as advised and it looks better.

The diagonal shoulder pads are bleached bone, purple and silver swords. I'll try to get better shots.

Also, weapons will be done with lighter greens, to distinguish them a bit more. I tried it with blue, but it looked odd.

Thanks everyone for your input! I appreciate!

These look pretty damn good. You took the Disciples scheme and made it your own, which I always like to see. Like the rest of our brothers have mentioned, you should add a wash to your bone color. Gryphonne sepia and Devlan mud are the most popular choices.

I have trouble painting eyes just like you. I usually add a spot of white, then a tiny point of black. After that, I paint around the eye area with whatever flesh color you used until it looks "normal". A wash of Ogryn flesh over the skin helps the eye fit in better.
