Ah-a-nothepsis Posted March 6, 2012 Share Posted March 6, 2012 Picked up 1000pts of Puppies and wanted to try my hand at painting them. I have tundra grass tufts on the way and a nice icy snow recipe to show you all once this army is complete. I will be making extensive use of blood/gore effects and I believe it will look amazing when combined with snow effects. I should have everything painted by tomorrow..but the bases will be the real star of the show as I am going for super high quality. Stay tuned. This guy is a Lone Wolf with 2 puppies. Funny you should show a Desert Eagle - I fired one of those (well, it fired blanks actually) this week, which is sort of a big thing here in the UK (we aren't usually allowed pistols). These have been done for a while, just been waiting for my grass tufts and some more glue so that I can make some snow bases. By snow I mean a reallllllly shiny and SLUSHY kind of snow! :P I am real excited and I hope it turns out well. I doubt it will be golden demon quality, but it will serve my purpose. I am happy with all the models and after going back to touch up teeth and skulls, I am pleased with the overall look. I don't really like armor highlighting, especially if the paint is a dull color. Next step is to give the sand a Sepia wash to seal it and make it a lot darker. After that, I will add some tufts of light brown grass before applying my icy snow effects. Once the snow dries, I will put some in special places (like a wolf's muzzle, perhaps). The final touch will be blood and gore. :P What's your favorite mini? Also the first time in a while I've seriously considered getting speeders. Looks good with your scheme but doubt a super dark blue speeder would look as good though :).
