Lord_Jaschk
Fluffwise, the Crimson Fists follow the codex astartes. Do they follow the same guidelines when it comes to Company Colours and such? 1st Company White/Silver 2nd Yellow/Gold etc, etc, etc Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/248578-crimson-fists/ Share on other sites
Brother Richard
Yes and No... Yes they did follow the standard color patterns for trim and company identification, with the added fist painted red for brother, and both hands painted red for veteran. ...then orks wiped out an undisclosed percentage of the entire Chapter... So did they ever recover enough to go back to chapter colors or did they stick to the crimson trim, fist, and gloves. It wouldn't be out of place to have a few 'original members' with their own company colors mixed in with your newbies who chose to represent the chapter as a single unified force (whats left of it). Then again you could go pre or post Rynn battle with your force. Either way..post a few pics and let us know how it turned out. from the Lexicanum: The Crimson Fists embrace the Codex Astartes readily, and are probably the most traditional among the sons of Rogal Dorn, and receive training of all aspects of combat as written by Roboute Guilleman. There are a few minor deviances; such as the first company being known as the Crusade Company, a tradition started after the Crusade of Righteous Liberation left the Crimson Fists with no more than 128 survivors. The 1st company has been kept at 128 marines since, with the master of the Crusade Company always being the Chapter Master as well. It is considered a bad omen to march to battle with less than a full veteran company....The chapter's main colour is deep blue with white or silver details. When an initiate joins the ranks of the Chapter his left glove is painted red; when he becomes a member of the Crusade company his right glove is also painted red. Scouts are often portrayed with red gloves but blue hand guards. Lord_Jaschk
Thanks for your answer :D I'm making the 4th Battle Company pre-rynn's world. Under Captain Alessio Cortez "the Immortal" ofc :P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/248578-crimson-fists/#findComment-3010502 Share on other sites
Araziel
In the novel Rynn's World, there are sections where Cortez is talking/thinking about his company, and there are several sections where green shoulder pad trims are mentioned. So yes, they follow the Codex for company insignia - though as has been pointed out, this may have changed slightly after the events of Rynn's World. The Fists obviously don't follow the Codex that much, mind, as the Captain of the 4th usually carries a Thunderhammer, whereas Cortez uses a Powerfist as we all know. Basically, my point is, is that it's up to you. I chose to go with green markings when I worked on them, for what it's worth. Lord_Jaschk
Thanks for the replies. :) Think I'll go with the green trim. It'll contrast nicely with the dark blue and crimson.
