I've finished the Draigowing Adeptus Custodes army so what other competitive list is there for Grey Knights... oh yeah Purifiers! I've been tinkering with a few lists but haven't yet played with them as I don't have the models. I've came up with a decent list that'll do well for me, hopefully as good as the Draigowing have. Also I just sold my Blood Angel Sanguinary Guard army and have bought another new army... Spent another 250 quid on this one and I think it might well be my army for October Throne Of Skulls. I placed my order the other night but received an email a day later to say they can send half the order as they don't have the other items in stock.. damn. I have spares left over from my Custodian Guard but because my Purifiers are gonna be robed I need to buy more DA Veteran Boxes. I'm also gonna invest in Instamould off eBay and give that a try aswell for my Imperial Eagle Razorback Doors. Also a little bad news as I found out Scibor have stopped producing Roman Centurion Heads so because these guys are gonna be Purifiers I will give them all High Elf Phoenix Guard heads. I will upload pictures later tonight once I've built the 2 Razorbacks. I'll probably add the Backpacks today but there isn't much else I can do atm until the heads arrive and there is another set Scibor Spartan Shoulder Pads due to arrive tomorrow aswell. It's ok I have other helmets coming now and I used those ones on my Paladins. I bought the High Elf Phoenix Guard ones to make them different to the Paladins. Using wyches is understandable, but well.... they look like wyches... One of the main things that i love in the imagery of the SoS is the face masks... shame you havent encorporated those somehow... but looking good. Looking forward to see some paint. VAGABOND Posted March 14, 2012 Author Share Posted March 14, 2012 Thank you, Yeah I'm back to my Cuistodes roots again and decided to work on a Purifier army this time around and see what I could do. Things have been a little slow as of late since I'm still waiting for the rest of my order and heads from ebay. Hopefully everything should be here by the end of the week and I can start putting paint to model. I also took these guys into GW yesterday and my army got lots of attention with my mates commenting on how ''harsh'' my list was. I played against my mates Raven Guard army in KP, which I won. In the second game I played against another guy I've played before with him using Nids this time. Shadows In The Warp messed with my Cleansing Flame a little but I still managed to blow his army to shreds before he hit my lines. The highlight of the game was his Swarmlords bodyguard with attached Prime being torn a new space hulk with only the Swarmlord left only to be charged by a Purifier Squad and sent back to the Stone Age. The last game I had was against a mate using his Space Wolves with yet another win after taking all 3 of his Plasma Ven Dreads out in the first turn and killing a unit of Long Wangs. He had a big unit of TWC get into combat and I managed to wound a few and killed the rest by shooting. So yeah the army is looking to be doing pretty well atm and having changed my list to be more killy I'll be looking forward to play a Guard list. VAGABOND Posted March 14, 2012 Author Share Posted March 14, 2012 I changed my list the other night after tinkering with Battlscribe and came up with a fierce army and took it into GW, a few of my mates even nicknamed it the codex breaker :). I don't know wether to be proud of that or not lol Here are a couple of pictures to give you an idea of what my Purifiers will look like, the heads aren't glued as I was just dryfitting them to see how they'd look. VAGABOND Posted April 11, 2012 Author Share Posted April 11, 2012 Alright guys, sorry about the lack of updates for these guys but I've been not even painted a single model yet as I had to wait for the High Elf Phoenix Guard helmets to arrive from Germany and the seller was messing me around so the whole project was on hold because of that. Mind you it did give me time to playtest the army and get to grips with it and I'm still changing the army list every few days until I know it's perfect. I'm also thinking of adding 3 Techmarines with Grenades to jump in Rbacks with Purifiers to launch tackle hordes and combat based lists. Modelling wise I've changed the heads on Coteaz and Crowe, even though I keep adding Coteaz into my list he's only really there for Sanctuary and nabbing first turn. I'm waiting for turrets from eBay and more Shoulder Pads to finish everyone off in time for paint. I was also lucky enough to get myself FW Imperial Eagle doors for my Rbacks so I can bling them up abit. I changed the list because I just wasn't happy with it and then last week I came up with a strong Henchmen list for 1750. Still keeping the Custodian idea in mind but trying different units. Anyways I'm rabbling on now.. Inquisitor Coteaz: This was the first Finecast model I bought recently and I always hated the bald head so to make it with the Custodes theme my army has I swapped it for a High Elf White Lion head. http://i73.photobucket.com/albums/i238/Ryan-Ess/Coteaz.jpg Constantine Valdor: This was the original model I did for him were he counts as a Librarian for my Draigowing Adeptus Custodes army. I wanted to keep it as close to the artwork as I could so converted him to be holding the shield.
