that part depressed me greatly.

WLK

Any time you see what is truly being lost in the HH.

Mechanicum

when they note the rise of ignorance and superstition instead of invention.

The Last Rememberancer

when they note the death of truth

The Outcast Dead

the vision with the insects, man was that well done!

Honourable mentions from The Outcast Dead

the head astropath being all tattooed up in what is alluded to as Tibetan/Buddhist tradition, and the discussion between Tagore and the boy on the pew.

like someone mentioned before, the world eater that ripped out the custode's spine, i liked how he promised to do it and once he did he said something along the lines of "see? told you i would."

again like someone pointed out, i liked how malcador had the conversation with corex in the victory room and explained the different items.

in prospero burns the part where hawser gets attacked by the guards and he tears them up.

deliverance lost the part where the new mk vl are introduced and the raven guard asks if its a joke cuz the helmets are beaked.

There are many, but one that occurs at the moment is in Galaxy in Flames, when Angron lands on Isstvan III after the virus bombing, and Tarvitz's reaction:

"It had often been said that a Space Marine knew no fear... Captain Saul Tarvitz was no exception, he had faced storms of gunfire and monstrous aliens and even glimpsed the insane predators of the warp, but when Angron charged, he ran."

Captures nicely what it must be like to have faced one of the most fearsome sights in the galaxy - a charging Angron.

Ha ha me too. One of my faves - in TFH -

"The travels of Osyrus and Odisseon in Terran myth are the travels of Khaane, Tezen, Slanat and Narag- prophets born Colchis great seekers now lost to time's embrace"

. I really liked that. There are just so many to choose from and a lot of them mentioned in this thread.

Hmmm, very interesting....This post and the post following behind it have led me to an interesting, and perhaps, controversial, thought.... If Khaane, Tezen, Slannat and Narag are indeed the four major chaos gods/daemons....and they traveled with Oddyseus, as well as did Oll.....and we know that Oll is a "perpetual", it is not hard to make the leap that perhaps the four were/are also "perpetuals". Following that logic is it too much of a stretch to think that the "big E" was also part of that group...perhaps even Oddyseus or Jason or Osirus himself?

Anyhow, back on topic: Most of my facorite parts have already been listed, but the Bear/Bjorn one definately made me go "Hell yeah!"

One of the last moments in TFH is one of my personal favorites. It's this one:

Sythran had smiled as the other five descended upon him. He considered his vow of silence complete given the circumstances, and he laughed at the warrior he killed.

'I always hated you, Xaphen.'

New one from Feat of Iron in The Primarchs.

Ferrus Manus' thoughts about Vulkan, their relationship, and the things that make them at once very similar but also utterly different. Especially when he's looking at the sword Vulkan made for him.

Edit: Ooh ooh ooh, and, in the McNeil Emperor's Children story in Primarchs, when Lucius

explicitly wonders if he could beat Khârn in a fight.

Ehrlen's death. His own gene-father drops in to crush him for his loyalty where Angron's had failed. What does he do? CHARGE!

I think partly it's because he reminds me of Ollanius Pius*, who had more stones than every Space Marine put together. ^_^

*Minor Know No Fear spoiler

This is ignoring the happening in KNF which I think made the story of Pius way less cool if the conclusion is what is suggested there.

Seeing how everyone hates Erebus and Kor Phaeron so much, I'm surprised no one:

Loved the bit where Guilliman ripped the heart out of Lorgar's right hand man so effortlessly, humbling him finally.

That for me was one of the worst parts

A space marine who a number of sources including collected visions say isn't as strong as a Custodes rips the spine out of a Battle plate armed enemy? Why can't they just punch through ceramite at all times then?

Ummm, because he was, like, really angry. Like, not normal angry, but REALLY angry.

Sheeeesh, pretty obvious I thought.

jk - the jail break was the worst bit of that book, and that bit was by far the worst bit of the jailbreak...

The Short story The Last Remembrancer, in Age of Darkness.

'What if he is innocent?' snapped Dorn. Qruze gave a weary smile.

'That proves nothing, my lord. If he is a threat he must be destroyed.'

I love the arc of the Half-heard. In Horus Rising he is a old foggy who is all but ignored. Now he is like E.F. Hutton. Primarches hang on his every word. To think my beloved Ordo Malleus gets it motto from him is just sick.

when tarvitz says something like "emperors children dont run" and the world eater says " they do from that" as angron jumps in.

also in both tfh and after desha it comes across as really sad whats happening to the word bearers and angron.

fav has to be the wolves taking out the quietude, the descent through the grav dock way cool

Excepting I don't think it really did....We know from the Word Bearer's novels that he is still alive, and we know that he still has his rivalry going with Erebus, even though that rivalry obviously cost him and caused him to, in what I would think in a major way, fail his Primarch. Apparently having learned very little from that particular escapade....

Still a very cool scene though, imo....

Edit:spelling and grammar

Sorry for the double post, but just thought of another "minor" thing that just dripped with irony for me:

When it is revealed that the Lectitio Divinatus that the future worship of the Emperor is based upon is the same book that outlined the faith that the Word Bearer's were rebuked for in TFH, and was penned by Lorgar.....

Of course he really did it. Kor Phaeron just didn't die from it. Still was satisfying to see him humbled ;)
