NightrawenII
Some of the Ultramarines successors use the "Omega" in their iconography, so it's definitely possible. But looking at your questions... You should ask in P,C&A section to get more responses of that sort. The Liber works more with background side of hobby. ~NightrawenII. Wolf Priest Haelaeif
I think using the DA badge on a successor is entirely fine. I do the same, using the badge not too much, but more like a kind of medal or ornament. For example, my company master will have one on his armour somewhere, a predator has one, and some normal tac marines carry the small ones on a rope, for example. Octavulg
Robes would be best in black, I think. Using parent chapter iconography is not uncommon. Octavulg
i am trying to follow the guidelines that you set down in your guide...would green and black vehicles be ok??? Sure? I really don't know. Depends how green, how black, and how it's distributed. I could see it looking really nice, I could see it looking jarring and out of place. i just want something to break up the bone color...or would it be ok if i did DIY chapter with the same scheme as the Disciples of Caliban??? Wait, that's bone? I thought it was a grey... You certainly could do the same scheme as the Disciples, though I'd expect a bit of confusion to arise. Green and black quartered might look good. Another option is the DoC scheme with bone instead of the green. If you want advice on color schemes, I suspect Ace Debonair of the heraldry department will be happy to assist. (That's a hint, Ace) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/248816-dark-angel-successor-idea/#findComment-3015372 Share on other sites

Imperial Fists are mostly yellow and have no problem looking badass, likewise for Dark Angels and green. However, if painting bleached bone is something you want to avoid, I'd reccomend sticking with green as a main colour. Honour thy parent Chapter, and so forth. There's not really much wrong with the ideas you've got, if you'd rather stick with them. These are just a few suggestions that can be heeded or discarded as you see fit. <_< Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/248816-dark-angel-successor-idea/#findComment-3015527 Share on other sites
recon0321
thanks ace You have definitely given me alot to think about...instead of bleached bone I am gonna use deneb stone a wash of devlin mud..I like the black/bone maybe use that for my 2nd Co? And I liked the idea of a DoC scheme green/bone thanks for your help OR I may do DoC with my own symbol and that black and bone scheme for my RW now what about my 1st Co? Ideas? Same as the Ravenwing one with Gold trim, perhaps? I mean, they're not going to be on the bikes, and quite often DA successors have terminator-armoured 1st companies, so they'll look pretty different anyhow. :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/248816-dark-angel-successor-idea/#findComment-3016793 Share on other sites
Aqui
Whilst I like the first of Ace's colour scheme's (the Green/Black quartered one, and the others are pretty cool too :D ), there is another option. Adopting the Dark Angels' original* colour - Black. I know that a lot of people say that Black is over used in some form or other (and they do have a point to some degree), it would still tie them to the DA, especially if you add a little Green. Example: The above takes elements from various parts of DA "lore", Black for the original* Colour, Green for the current, and Bone for the DeathWing. (*When I say "original", I mean original as in when the Dark Angels were first introduced back in Rogue Trader, they were Black, then later changed to Green. I'm not sure if Canon has been retcon'd so that this is no longer true) Hope that gives you another idea :P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/248816-dark-angel-successor-idea/#findComment-3016814 Share on other sites
