Gaeus Marius
Hello All, I recently purchased one of those Casting Kits you can get at Hobby Lobby and such, and a question came to mind as I was reading the directions: Do I have to keep buying the casting resin? Is that the only thing that will work in the molds that the kit makes, or can I press miliput or GS into it and get the same results? Subtle Discord
If it's a kit with pourable RTV (Room Temperature Vulcanizing) rubber, then you'll only be able to use liquids to fill it. RTV rubber moulds are rather soft and flexable (but tough) to allow complex shapes and details to be pulled free. In most cases, greenstuff will be too stiff to press into the mould, and not distort the rubber. That said, there are some products that will make a stiffer mould that will be better suited press-moulding with greenstuff.
