how big is the vulcan mega bolter?

sorry i know thats useless. i'd say thats a bit on the small side but it depends what it is for. if it for a titan arm then yeah. if it is to be coming out of tank or something then maybe but of course the barrels are just a fraction, there is a lot of body to the vulcan

know of any side by side comparison pics?

A Forgeworld Warhound Vulcan Mega-bolter arm is longer and almost as wide as a Leman Russ chassis. I'll try and post a side-by-side pic tomorrow morning if someone doesn't beat me to it.

The tank-mounted one is the same size, just recessed into the upper hull. The red line in the fourth pic shows the approximate cut-off line for how much protrudes.

I used to use the one from the Shadowsword kit as a stand-in for my Thunderfire Cannon (couldn't ever get that thing to stick together, pile of crap...)

 

The size difference wasn't too much of an issue. So if you know how big the Thunderfire is, you kind of have a rough idea.
