Long Fangs vs Vindicators?

I love my Vindicators. I try to never use just 1, almost always 2 if I take them.

But, if I was a Space Wolf Player, it would be Long Fangs easily. Just an amazing unit. The ability to split fire, the ability to have more than 4 heavy weapons. The only area they lack is in the ability to take meatshields.

I have considered using a basic WG at 18pts as a meat shield but never seem to find the points

For the sake of clarification, can an Ordnance weapon like a Demolisher Cannon be fired if the tank carrying it moves?

I always thought Vindi's had an issue with moving and shooting as the DC is Ordnance...

Using two Vindi's, I would rather turn to the Aett here than just random people. Also, yes, when I can, I shall check my books; I think I'm remembering the Vindi wrong.

Ordinance can fire the turn the tank moves, just cant fire any other weapons, even if they are defensive weapons. If it is Ordinance "Barrage" the tank cant move. This doesn't effect the Demolisher Cannon, it would effect Whirlwinds.

Well I've always gotten that horribly wrong. Time for me to give a vindicator a shot.

Don't have my rule book handy, but I am pretty sure a Whirlwind can move 6 and fire, the only drawback is it has to have LOS as it is only allowed to use direct fire.

Weapons with the classification "Ordinance Barrage" can choose to fire normal ordinance or barrage. Ordinance they can move and fire, barrage they can not.
