Decimator Daemon Engine

I've been thinking about this model a bit today, and while it's not as tough as I'm sure we'd all like (the Unholy Vigour rule is ok, but I'd rather have a more Soulgrinder-level AV), it still provides something in abundance that Chaos Daemons need: ranged anti-tank that can be fired on the drop.

Think about it: a pair of Butcher Cannons, pumping out 8x S8 shots when it lands. That's more anti-light/medium tank firepower than most Daemon armies have at all, all in a single walker. The only downside is that it takes up one of our valuable Elites slots, but even so, this might reinvigorate my interest in my Daemon army.

Thoughts?

Two butcher cannons will seriously upgrade a daemon army's midrange tank hunting. I really like the model and the Unholy Vigour. Three of these, three Soul Grinders or DP's, and add in GD's to taste and you'll have a ver cool looking army.

You'll get ROFL stomped, but your army will look very cool.

I originally thought this could be used as a Knight Titan stand-in, but the experimental rules make it stand on its own. Unholy vigour is basically a "reanimation protocol", and the dedications just make it even better. Give this guy flank march and he will ruin someone's day.

This thing is awesome. I wrote a review over at Dakka and BoLS if anyone is interested. I think you can take no more than 2 of these though (probably 1) because the Daemons Elite slot is so packed full. If it was Heavy I would say take 3 to every game you play.

Edit: A Dreadknight would crush this thing - higher WS, 2d6 Pen, Preferred Enemy, Init 4

True true. I didn't think preferred enemy (daemon) would have an effect since it's a vehicle, but I suppose it would in this case.

I was gonna say it's too bad that it doesn't have more than 1 structure point, but the unholy vigour makes an interesting replacement for that. I can't wait to see some defiler bit conversions for this thing.
