So I get to start my long term goal of owning an entire space marine chapter. Good thing for my wallet that I chose a chapter that has already lost two companies. So first for a paint scheme this is what I was thinking. Everyone else got there first, but the Hawk Lords are Purple and Yes they are presented in the Codex Space Marine but I am doing the 8th. @Reyner True the 8th is easiest to represent by using the Codex Blood Angles. In fact I asked on the forums before starting this project and the answers were overwhelmingly resounding BA codex. @Bother Syth Yep they are Purple and Gold/Gray depending on the source. They often get confused with PH Emperor's Children, which is the reason I chose not to do the 2nd Company, just yet. The reason I chose to do the 8th is that you rarely get to see a reserve company. Setting on the 8th was easy, 6th is all bikes (expensive and has been done), 7th Hawk Lords are lost in the warp, 9th is impossible to do with out apoch or IA, and 10th well I don't know why I chose not to do the 10th. They may be my next step, idk we will see. @AGPO Thank you. I do plan on going back and adding some detail such as capes and chord and other ornate things to make them look just a little more like commanders of the Adeptus Astartes. @Grimdarkness Thank you I am to the point where I will be needing to make a decision on this very soon, so I put the question to you for your opinion. Codex chapters use a red helmet to signify a sergeant. Some chapters use other Identifying marks to further signify this. I was thinking what would the Hawk Lords do. Now with regards to the paint scheme, may I recommend the original darker purple and then the red helmets? I like the colored knee-pad with squad number though. Good idea. Purple is already full of color and usually adding color to the kneepad is something to add color to a dark scheme like grey or black. I think you could get away with roman numerals in white on the knee pad. Or I personally love the DA scheme for companies and squads with the black and white checkers and such. Updates soon on the Landspeeders maybe this weekend. On another note I have done something in the mean time.
