Erasmus of Baal
I actually already have a thread in the BA forum, but for some reason the idea of bumping this two-month-old thread back up with my new updates bothers me. Really, I already had one updates, so with this, I fulfill that part of the LPC vow. Anyways, the LPC got me going, and I have no intention of stopping at any time in the near future! Today's first update (I'll probably do another later tonight) features mostly Devastator Marines and a couple of odds and ends, like guys with flamers and my two tactical squad sergeants. These guys have just been primed red and decorated with Mechrite Red and Chainmail. I'm hoping to get the two layers of gold on them tonight, too, in addition to some other details like flesh colors and plasma coils. ANYWAYS Pics. An overview of the Marines I'm working on right now. The metal case in the background is actually a repurposed makeup case that I carry all my paints, brushes, templates, and such in. Some heavy weapons marines. Note the careless bits of Chainmail on one Lascannon wielder's helmet because I'm a sloppy painter. ^_^ A close-up of my favorite Sergeant out of those that I have. He's a Devastator sergeant with boltgun and chainsword - that little servo-skull next to him is his Auspex. ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/249090-crimson-kings-wip/ Share on other sites
Crimson Hawk
Looking promising, my advice it to apply a coat of Badab Black to the metal, to pick out details. Erasmus of Baal
Thanks for the tip, Crimson Hawk. I'm never quite sure what to do with big things like heavy weapons (this is why I don't usually do tanks). That won't dull the shine too much, will it? I'm loving the chrome color. Aside from that, UPDATE TIME! Big group shot after gold and before detail: Close-up of my favorite Sergeant, whom I have chosen to be Sergeant Damien, before adding any real details. No, I'm not going to name everyone; I just thought he deserved it. After adding some details, here are the special weapons: After adding those details, here is a tight shot of my heavy weapons. I couldn't get a picture looking good of them less close together. I have decided that Sergeant Damien will be the commander for my upcoming strike force against Hive Fleet Zerg (my girlfriend's Tyranids). Here's a close-up of how he will probably appear at that battle: Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/249090-crimson-kings-wip/#findComment-3017536 Share on other sites
