Long story short, it's full of xenos, renegades, chaos and very poorly defended. This is why the Van Halen Crusade was founded. High Marshall Helbrecht himself selected and promoted Marshall Van Halen to take the newly-christened Diver Down and bring the Emperor's mercy to the vast wasteland that Sector 307 has degenerated into; because while Sector 307 is rife with heresy, it is flush with vital resources. So our tasks are simple: Cleanse the sector in the name of the Emperor, Uphold the Honor of the Emperor, Suffer not the Unclean to Live, Abhor the Witch; Destroy the Witch and Accept Any Challenge, no Matter the Odds. On to tonight's battle. The Diver Down received word of a Tau infestation scavenging the site of an abandoned manufactorum. Upon securing an LZ we deployed a small squad and proceeded to the site where we set about our task of securing the center of the derelict manufactorum. Battle was joined when cowardly Tau used their stealthsuits to spring a trap on one of our fire teams holding the high ground. Our brothers fought bravely, but were out-gunned and isolated. The rest of our force struck quickly, Rhinos rushing into battle to engage a contingent of Crisis suits, which fell quickly to another fire team. Their commander attempted to engage our Rhinos, only for Champion Vinzler to emerge and engage the Tau commander in his crisis suit personally. The filthy Xenos was no match for the Emperor's Champion, even commanding his heretical armor. When our second Rhino was destroyed, the Crusader Squad emerged and joined the battle, chasing fire warriors from the battle without mercy. Champion Vinzler led our force to victory, destroying many Xenos (I lost count after the Champion killed his 10th Xenos, and he doesn't keep track) in the name of the Emperor and keeping the filth from scavenging the Machine God's holy relics in their efforts to pervert and defy the Imperium. Such was the victory that our sacred Dreadnaught's drop pod landed just as the last of the routed Tau were fleeing for their lives.
