Grey Knights - The origins - the first 8

Great stuff! I love how they seem to have a vengeance against Death Guard!

Thank U Circus, I tried to emphasize the hatred versus their ancient comrades, maybe the ancient loyal brother entombed in the sarcofagus of dreadnought was once a stubborn Death Guard  ^_^ ^_^

Very clever use of the Ravenwing parts, and that Deathguard looks awesome (even if he is a causality). Stunning work as usual.

Thank you Brò, now you know I love the details on my models. for this reason I like your models (full of charisma) ^_^

Yes, the DG is a casuality...

And now...the time is coming....the leading actor of this thread finally on this page...

Garro/Janus, the First Supreme Grand Master of the Grey Knight

Unfortunately it's not completed, but the structure is finished...i think at the 65/70% of real completion!

Smashing models!

On the note of Garro being Janus, an interesting thing has just occurred to me because I re-read "the Flight of the Eisenstein" the other day.

At the end, Euphrati Keeler and Garro are being described standing as one, "soldier and saint together" with "one looking to the past, the other to the future" or something along those lines.

The point is that Janus was the Ancient Roman god of boundaries (a common theme throughout the book too) and has two faces - one looking backwards in time and one looking forwards. If that wasn't enough, the Imperial Eagle is an oft-referenced icon in the book = the Emperor's eagle with the two eagles of a similar nature.

Prosecution rests for the mean-time. ;)

Awesome project and awesome painting. I'm truly amazed. I myself am only good at converting and/or modelling (which you greatly did, too) and therefore I can only give a very, very small advise: Use the GW Drill to make little holes in your stormbolters, assault cannons, etc. It looks far better if every muzzle is truly opened and not just some of them. I hope you understand what I wanted to say (not sure if every word I had to look up was 100% correctly).

But anyway, A GREAT PROJECT. Keep on rocking those GK :P

Very good analysis, I'm sure that the next audiobook of HH: Garro, clarify all these theories....or....I hope so ;)

Hi mates, after about a year of planning, the character for which I opened this topic is over!!!

This does not mean that I will not be many other models that will accompany him.

"After the fateful words of Malcador the Sigillite, the errant knights were aware of their own destiny, the eight were ready to face the dramatic waves of warp sons.

The legend began that day, when brothers in arms of different legions gathered the shards of their own and promised to fill with light the sad and dark future that awaited them

On Titan, only a man spoke. A man who has seen the death and destruction of a dream of hope and freedom, a man who, with his ancient sword promised in front of the human race,

that their task will be to weed out the evil with the power of a few valiant men."

The man was called Janus, although it was once feared as battle brother of the 7th - Legion XIV - Death Guard.

"...Brothers... now that the light of the Emperor watches over our shoulders and our swords are blessed with ancient forces ... we restore order out of chaos"

GREAT STUFF! You've done what I thought was impossible. Which was to put some originality into the GK models.

OHhhhhhh...my...

I hope to continue with this kind of detailed models

Great work! I love it all, keep up this wonderfull stuff

Thank you killax!!

Now I ask you, who (of the other eight) would to see in the future...

I think that the next project will be the ending of BA pre heresy squad and the bodyguard of Garro...

Hi Guys, it's been a long time since the last occasion I posted pictures and photos about my Grey knights project "The First Eight".

Actually, I've completed the latest models about a year and a half ago, but I admit that, for lack of time, I’ve never had the opportunity to share with you the entire army.

So, today I really want to show you some, I hope, nice pictures.
The project is based on recreating the setting and the atmosphere of those early days, when, on Titan, Malcador gave new life to the first 8 grand masters and to the first knights.

I hope you enjoy it

And now...purifiers....

the fury of the ancient?

Everyone knows that Rylanor's final fate remains unknown, I loved the novels "galaxy in flames" and "fulgrim", so I wanted to give new life to this charismatic character...

...and then...

From my point of view...

Veteran of Unification Wars on Terra - Ancient of Rites - Grand Master of Titan Rylanor

While I liked your Grey Knights a lot, I think the Dreadnoughts better show off your painting skills. They look absolutely amazing. I especially like the base of the last one.

Thank you very much Fenbain msn-wink.gif

I admit that the painting is not my strong suit ;( I prefer sculpture and conversion....so thank you for appreciating my (low) painting skills tongue.png

If you enjoyed these bases, I hope you will enjoy those (in my opinion much more evocative) of my BA army

Some very cool GKs.thumbsup.gif

Kick ass Grey Knights mate!

Thanks a lot Guys, I'm very happy you can appreciate my models wub.gif

Great googly-moogly! Those are fantastic! So much character-- great job!

I know *zero* about Grey Knights, but juts looking at your models I feel like I can gather a bit of the story of each one.

I have a tip or two that might help with painting the eyes on the guys without helmets-- PM me if you are interested.
