I started painting the Warhound. The Head and the Weapons are nearly done.

For the head armour i used the new base color "Averland Sunset". It´s amazing, one layer with a brush. No strokes from the brush visible after it dries and with one layer it covers. Ceramite White and Memphiston Red are equal good. I love the new base colors.

Time for an update. It took some time but i think it was worth the time and work. The legs are done.

I added some latin phrases to the scorles.

Mors certa hora incerta = Death is certain, the hour uncertain

Oderint dum mentuant = May they hate me as long as they fear me

Si vis pacem para bellum = If you want peace prepare for war

In maiorem Imperator gloriam = For the higher glory of the Emperor

The only thing that doesn't speak well to me is the leg posing. The weight distribution and angles and all that makes it look like it's walking backwards...of course, if it just came across a Warlord titan that would make sense! Nothing you can do about it now of course, but that's just the impression I got.

Otherwise, the freehand is pretty sweet, as is the rest of the painting. It seems to be pretty glossy...are you adding a clear coat onto certain parts or is the paint you're using just that shiny? The blue especially.

Also, I demand close ups of the script you've written!

I don't find that he Looks like walking backward.

Yeah, i wanted the Titan that shiny. It should look like fresh from base maintenance. Normally i'm not a fan of that but in this special case it's something different.

Close ups will follow once the rest is done.

Oh, and One thing...

Venator Tyrannis never retreats ;)

I study movements, so it comes a bit easier to me to see such things :). In the side shot of the last post with pictures this is most evident. If the titan was walking forward, the waist/upper legs/upper body weight would be quite a bit more angled forward and lower to the ground. Since they are nearly vertical/leaning back/weight shifted to the rear, this indicates a backwards step. The center of gravity (the waist) is closer to the back foot, rather than the front foot. As an example, try walking forward and back with your weight more towards the front and back and see how natural/awkward it feels ;). Lastly, the front foot is up on its toes, meaning there's no weight on it, as if it is about to be lifted up. It doesn't have to be called a retreat, simply a...tactical repositioning :cuss.

I like glossy! Did you use gloss paint or was it a clear gloss coat over the top? It looks like the ones FW did. The good part about it is that you can do some minor weathering on it and it will still look something awesome. The stripes on the leg armor are impressive. Did you lay down masking tape to help with the straight lines or was it all by eye? Either way it looks very good, considering the eagle broke up the lines and that does not make things easy.

A+ all around. Get it done!

I used the glose coat from GW. And yes, i used 10mm masking tape for the stripes. Otherwise it had been too difficult to do them freehand.

My original plan was to use the other leg armour and paint flames on it. The stripes should have been on the shoulder armour. But the leg armour with the eagles is too impressive not to use them. But flames in the background of the eagles would have been to messy. So i changed it. I will do the flames at the weekend.

It looks good, currently working on one of these bad boys also. Yours Cheverons are very nice, the whole thing looks right off the show room floor and ready for war. Plasma pie plate that pig!!!

It ain't got no chevrons, only stripes :D.

Looks great! With the top on it now works right; maybe before it was just the camera angle. I like the flames. How did you do the cockpit glass? I tried using clear plastic for mine but it kept popping off rather annoyingly.

Thanks. Yeah, the flames turnend out very well.

For the cockpit windows i used the clear plastic that came with titan. At first i made me a paper template. Next i cut the plastic into shape. I'm working with the thick superglue from Sylmasta. I used a toothpick to apply the glue on the inner window frame. I pressed the plastic for two minutes against the frame and that's it.

Now i wll do the base, the Princeps honor banner and the moderati's kill banner.

Very impressive looking titan, and a really quick build, so :D from me.

How much clean up did you have to do and how difficult was the kit to put together?

It was much work. Three days for cleaning, washing and assembling the parts. The assembling was Not that difficult. You have an instruction.
