Land Raider Prometheus Angelis Imperator

Hi guys I thought I would share a little project with you. For ages now I have wondered how the driver would sit in a Landraider,

so I set about modeling it, this was to be part of a larger project to provide Azreal with a vehicle worthy of being called his own.

The name Angelis Imperator comes from the Imperial Armour Siege of Vraks.

I started doing a WIP log which you can find in my signature box

here are some pics from where I am at the moment.

I quickly discovered that the driver would partly block the front right exit, this wasn't a concern because I don't like the idea of my troops dashing out in front of the guns.

as you can see with the front on he is almost hidden so the troops can still exit the front

a shot of him painted. I decided that the crew would have shoulder pads as they could potentially be called to exit and

defend the vehicle or use the top capolas so thus be exposed. the driver wouldn't leave the vehicle unless it was destroyed so he doesn't have pads.

this is him looking through the view ports (still to be painted in)

next up was modeling the command and control suite. As the lead vehicle this Prometheus would have the same capabilities as a Damocles rhino

here you can see the added screens for company read outs and target indication etc

the helmet belongs to the Deathwing Commander that will be directing the battle

I also tried to give it a feel of being used

I have added some extra grenade launchers to the front ramp and the rear panels, the idea being that the LR storms into

the thick of battle and fires off the battery of grenades clearing the ramp for Azreal and he's honour guard to charge out and wreck havoc

I'm not keen on the GW Azreal so will be making a Termie clad version myself, but thats for later

because of the added depth to the ramp, and I don't like the tracks, I want to add my own tracks to give the LR some ground clearance.

The GW ones would make it ground out on a speed ramp let alone over rough terrain.

the next step was to hinge all the doors and hatches

as you can see this now gives some clearance

Just finished the interior with the characters painted

so thats it to date, I'm now busy painting the outside and giving it some battle damage and weathering.

This is an absolutely brilliant piece of modelling.

 

On the driver specificallly, IIRC I think he kinda hangs down on some kind of seat/harness arrangement under his cupula rather than having a proper seat and floor as you have modelled it. But I like what you done.

 

And it that takes nothing away for the creative input that's been employed into pulling this project off. Remarkable.

lol cheers, I am primarily a modler and painter, whilst I like to keep within the fluff on a whole I follow the rule of cool on my models, Why should Blood angels and grey knights have all the best models. I have a full company and 1/2 + a 3rd of the Ravenwing and 25 Deathwing. My 7 year old son has just started collecting and playing Tau so we will be having a few simple games. My aim, like a lot of people is to have a full chapter and support from ad mech I'm busy making a table top to display the models.

Isiah you are right about the hanging seat and I might give this a shot for Belials Promethus, looking in IA it looks like a smaller configuration.

Been a busy few nights painting. should have it finished in time for my pledge at the local GW, all base colours are done and I've added rain streaks (hard to see in the pics), next is the final highlights to a few bits, lights and lenses and then last the final addition of dry mud then some wet mud.

I am struggling with adding damage and wear to this colour of green any tips and hints would be great :0)
