Simon 86
Hi there. As the title states I'm fairly new to 40K. I've painted a few models for people in the past one of them was a Grey Knight Venerable Dreadnought which is probably some of my best work to date. Heres the problem I've done some background research on Gray Knights but there's never enough info on the net and I don't want to go out and spend £20 on a codex and not want to make up a Gray Knight army. I was wondering if there's any good Gray Knight story books out there that explains where/how the Gray Knights come about from my understanding their no the run of the mill Space Marine? Also I like to know about all the different squad (e.g.) purifier squad. Thanks in advance Simon. Oh nearly forgot here's a pic of the Dread I painted up for a friend which I did manage to beg off him on the condition. I paint up a Gray Knight army http://i1053.photobucket.com/albums/s462/kayp1990/7bf86dc4.jpg Injoy Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/249510-newbie-to-40k/ Share on other sites
redfeild32
The Grey knights are based heavly off the spanish Inquistion. They look for the hertics that come from with in. They route out all the evils in the imperium and will go to any lemgth to assure that their secrecy stays. They are the point of the knife that is known as Space Marines. They were founded by the Emperor him self in the IoM darkest hour. They can draw a blood line stright to the Emperor of mankind him self. They have no Primarch but instead are sons of the Emperor. Now they are the only chapter that can state that since they were created not one of them has turned to choas. In fact they weild many of the same powers as choas but are able to resist the touch of the worp. In fact their chapter master walks though the warp it's self. Now on the table top they are easly by far the best army for a new person. they are very forgiving and are absoulte monsters in everything. JasoX
I have to disagree with the point that its forgiving, you are allways outnumbered so if you mess up and lose something its allways a critical. Gentlemanloser
you are allways outnumbered Not always. Wile you can build a GK army to be (currently) the smallest possible in the game, it's quite possible to build one that has the same bodies, if not more, than equivalent marine armies. IG blobs will always out number you though. ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/249510-newbie-to-40k/#findComment-3022205 Share on other sites

Thanks very much. I should be starting to paint Gray Knights very soon. I've just took on a Iron Warriors War Smith for a mate so that's number one on my list at the minute being so there's some money involved for doing it.
