recon0321
yes these are similar to Astral Claws but instead of metallic colors i am going to be using Adeptus Battlegrey,Tin Bitz and mordian blue only ranking marines will have a chapter symbol...the thought being that having the chapter symbol adorn your wargear is a huge honor that must be earned not simply thru the rite of passage of becoming a Astartes. they are a knightly order they will have the following symbolism Maltese crosses- these are honor markings represent solidarity and brotherhood of original fighting orders of there home world of Jericho V chapter symbol- stylized sword icon tabards/robes-each being up the the individual marines and his fighting style what color should my crosses and swords be? i was thinking crosses adeptus battlegrey or red and swords in tin bitz Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/249521-the-order/ Share on other sites
Grey Hunter Ydalir
This looks like a thousand other undeveloped chapters at the moment, are these proposals of yours (this and the other one) supposed to be actual IA's or are you just looking for somewhere to showcase your ideas? They are extremely bare-bones with nothing of the chapters character, which is what we're looking for in the Liber. It doesn't have to be the first thing you come up with for a Chapter, although if you're looking to write a history and so forth for them it does help to know the minds of your Astartes, so to speak. On topic, the swords should be a brighter colour than the rest of the armour - maybe mithril silver or chainmail? My reasoning being; they're obviously proud of their Chapter's badge, and it should stand out and proclaim their honour as visibly as possible. ^_^ Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/249521-the-order/#findComment-3023937 Share on other sites
recon0321
thanks ace... yea i was having a hard time trying to incorporate these guys into DA history so i decided to scrap the idea.... and yes i am going to do a complete IA when i get around to it the reason i do a barebones approach is first *i like a basic idea first *i also like the models to speak for themselves and the fluff be built around them.. *i am going to add some templar/DA bitz to spice up the basic kit Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/249521-the-order/#findComment-3023977 Share on other sites
Grey Hunter Ydalir
Actually, we're only really looking for that in finished articles. This is true, however without a defined character an IA can be as finished as you like and still have nothing worth reading. An IA is as much a narrative piece, an exploration of the character of the chapter rather than an individual. You look at any article that is popularised within the Liber and it's members and you will find chapters with lots of character. Even and especially the games workshop designed chapters are if anything, over characterised to the point of being somewhat absurd in many ways. I'm not attacking you ( not you Ace, :D ), I'm just playing Devil's Advocate. But... that's what I was saying, it should be in the finished articles. ;) I don't think it should be a mandatory first step for a DIY Chapter, though. Does the double negative mean you are attacking me? Bleh, I'll work it out later. :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/249521-the-order/#findComment-3024823 Share on other sites
