Darkchild130
Thought about building an army again after a hiatus of about 5 years, so I built a mini. I'd like feedback on his look, I'm going for sort of an SF feel. http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f5/darkchild131/Deathwatch.jpg http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f5/darkchild131/IMG_20110412_133601-1.jpg http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f5/darkchild131/Deathwatch2.jpg Darkchild Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/249540-deathwatch-the-true-special-forces-of-40k/ Share on other sites

YoungWolf7
A lot of work on one mini, but I completely get it. To reinforce the idea you might want to add a sling to the bolter to give the idea he can drop it without losing it in a fracas. Dorns Padawan
Those GS skills are awesome, amazing how much detail you have squeezed in! I really like the bolter, nice little touch that :jaw: . He certainly looks very kitted out for the occasion. How many of these bad boys do you intend to make? Darkchild130
Thanks for the comments guys. If I decide to commit I will ease myself back into 40k slowly, so They will start as a Kill team (in the Deathwatch sense and game sense) then maybe a combat patrol etc. Darkchild Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/249540-deathwatch-the-true-special-forces-of-40k/#findComment-3022924 Share on other sites
twopounder
I really like the LBV. A three point sling would be cool, but he couldn't hold it very far from his chest for that to work (otherwise it would dangle around his knees). Maybe add an antenna to his helmet as well? I definitely like where it's going so far. Why have a sling when mag clamps are available? @Darkchild - looking good so far mate Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/249540-deathwatch-the-true-special-forces-of-40k/#findComment-3023051 Share on other sites
twopounder
That was aimed at Young Wolf. I was pointing out why it didn't have a sling :P Though a 3 point allows you to simple drop the weapon and grab another without worrying about where you're going to put it. The idea would work for guardsmen, but its tough with how marines pose and their unnatural body. reckoning
Those GS skills are inspiring, especially the buckles. Currently working on a DW kill team myself so would love to see where this goes. I am a slave to only one sling at the moment, it was orginally the Magpul MS2 and now is the MS3 - can switch from 1 point to 2 point easily, cant get much better for direct action! Darkchild130
thanks all for the kind words, glad to see the desired look is working for you! @Pulse: I've been using a Blackhawk single point bungee sling for some years now that I picked up in Kuwait. Works for me. Darkchild Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/249540-deathwatch-the-true-special-forces-of-40k/#findComment-3023583 Share on other sites
