Call for DIY Unforgiven Chapters

Recommended Posts

Hey guys! I'm currently painting a force called the Angels of Retribution. I you haven't seen any of my work on them, you can check 'em out here: http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/index.p...howtopic=204248

Marines in my successor are seconded to them, like Deathwatch. They serve temporarily and hunt and kill those who have come into contact with Fallen. Similar to Deathwatch, the marines maintain their home chapter's colors on their shoulders and helmets. Now, I've painted quite a few marines of each of the official successors and I'd like to get more variety. Even if only 1/3 of the Legion survived past the Heresy and Caliban, that would still be over 20,000 marines (very likely) that would have knowledge of the Fallen, and 19 Unforgiven successors. So, if you'd like your scheme to get a marine or two in the Angels of Retribution, post up a picture of your scheme (models would be awesome, but painter images work too) and I'll include it (as long as it's not too weird. ;) ). Then, when I've finished up the model I'll post a picture of it. Heck, if you want you can post some fluff and a name for him and why he was chosen for the Angels of Retribution (the chapter can be used as training for members of the Deathwing or Inner Circle, or to assess members who have yet to enter the Deathwing or Inner Circle for inclusion).

Cheers, guys! B)

The Vindicators; they believe in the divinity of the emperor - and that he has forgiven them - but they do still hunt the Fallen, so they might fit, too.

Btw: the base colour for their armour is "Luftwaffe Camo Green" from the Vallejo Model Colour range, highlighted with GW's Camo Green. Shoulder pads is a mix of khaki and bone, shaded with thinned down earth and highlighted with bone up to white. Chest eagle is flat grey with black wash and light grey highlights.

Thanks for your submission. Sorry it took so long for me to get back. Here's the finished marine:

Again, only the shoulder pad and helmet of the marine is in your colors. ^_^ Sorry if they're not right. Always hard for me to match painter colors.

Anyone else got cool Unforgiven schemes?

the Angels of Caliban, halved Dark Angel Green and Black scheme.

Do you want the Chapter Badge as well? Or does your one take precedence? Link for more info on the Chapter is in my sig. 2nd Founding DA, so, should have some history with your one :D

All I need for the chapter badge is the color of it. I paint any shoulder details in that color (except for a Crux Terminatus).

As for your submission, here is Battle-Brother Zacharius, Heavy Weapons specialist of the 3rd Squad of the Fist of Judgement (1st company). He was seconded to the Angels of Retribution after demonstrating unshakable resolve and tenacity while clearing the hellish heretek-infested subhive of Pyrexia Majoris with his 1st Co. squad, led by an Epistolary of the chapter. At the time wielding a storm bolter, he and his squadmates met heavy resistance from corrupted Adeptus Mechanicus magi and their personal combat servitors. At the cost of one of their number, they destroyed the servants of the Adeptus Mechanicus and came face to face with their true target; Forge Master Garakus of the 14th Chapter of the Dark Angels Legion. His trip through the warp had left him a twisted and corroded figure. Rusting mechandrites swarmed around him, dancing with a life of their own. A jagged-edged clamp on a servo-arm rose over his shoulder, and his arms were replaced by ceramite and steel limbs mounting an array of jagged-edged power blades and powerful plasma torches. Additionally, powerful poisons and biological agents coated the ammunition in his integrated heavy bolter system. Using the deadly weapons, the Fallen techmarine killed all his attackers save Zacharius, his sergeant, and the Epistolary accompanying them. Zacharius grabbed the assault cannon from the grip of his fallen brother, having seen that the shells of his stormbolter failed to penetrate the heavy armor of the Forge Master.

Before Zacharius could fire the weapon, his thigh was seized in the grip of Garakus' servo-arm. The clamp began to crush Zacharius' leg, accompanied by the sharp crack of splintering ceramtie. Garakus dragged Zacharius closer to him and pinned his left arm to the ground with a power blade. Before the killing blow could be struck, Zacharius sergeant landed a shot in the eye lense of Garakus. Recoiling from the blow and partially blinded by shrapnel, Garakus stumbled a step back from Zacharius and the power blade slid clear of his arm. Zacharius used the short reprieve to level the assault cannon at Garakus. With a precise and sustained burst of fire from his reclined position, Zacharius destroyed the armor on the Forge Master's left leg. Garakus responded by intensifying the pressure on Zacharius' leg, and he could feel flesh give way before the clamp. Again the power blade struck out, this time deep into the Terminator's chest. As the cruel weapon twisted and dug into his left lung, Zacharius' system flooded with pain killers and adrenaline. Zacharius refused the thought of failure and pressed the assault cannon's barrels against the Forge Master. With a blast of 20 shells delivered in less than 1 second, the Terminator severed the Techmarine's leg at the knee. As Garakus fell, his servo-arm was destroyed by the Epistolary and Zacharius' leg was freed. Overcome finally, the Fallen was captured and subsequently made to repent for his treachery.

Zacharius assumed a Heavy Weapon Specialist role upon his transfer to the Angels of Retribution. Hefting a deadly accurate Assault Cannon, Zacharius and his heavy fire have turned the tide of many a battle.
