Chef Wulfen
my question is can a wolf priest go with out his helm. or it is part of his office along with his wargear? why i as this is becouse i want to make a monster hunting wolf priest that will have a wolf guard body guard with him now for his wargear i have chosen combi-melta terminator armour wolf tail talisman wolf tooth necklace saga of the beastslayer now with my idea for him not wearing a helm is that is was so damaged that it could not be repaired even by the iron priest so he goes more with a wolf skin over his head kinda like njal stormcaller has. now idk if this would look kool or i should just go with the helm off ulrik. thanks for everyone that reads this. WG Vrox
The Chaplin / Wolf Priest helm is a sign of office. However if you want to go with your fluff idea then I say go for it, especially if he is going to be a Beastslayer. Valerian
For the fluff, it's fine for him to go without a helm when he can, as Space Wolves are known to fight without them when it makes sense to. However, he shouldn't be without one completely, as the Iron Priest would get him a replacement right away, if his were damaged beyond repair. Otherwise, he'd be royally screwed when fighting: on a Space Hulk, in a poisonous environment, in a vacuum, on some Daemon Worlds, in a high-pressure environment, etc., etc. (basically anywhere that a sealed system is required). Space Marines need to be able to operate in any environment, at any time, and not just on hospitable planets, like Terra. Schertenleib
I didn't have a problem with it. :P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/249655-wolf-priests/#findComment-3024329 Share on other sites
Wulfebane
The Gamesday 2003 limited edition Wolf Priest just had a rebreather and a wolf skull, so I think it's the skull (any bone-derived device, imo) more than the helmet that is the badge of office. It's been said plenty in several threads, but just so you're aware, a WP in TDA is not cost-effective. Runic armor is better.
