Yeah Cormac mentioned the Magos angle,

- that is the way i think i will go to. It gives my chapter extremly strong ties do the AdMech, and it makes more sense. The Magos would be working with flesh and genetics, where as straight AdMech doesnt really care about flech and genetics.

To further this discussion.......what else do we know of the Magos Biologis???

- I looked it up on lexicanum, but all they got is like two sentences.

Just one question. With all the forces available to the AdMech already (Titan Legions, Skitarrii, Secutor, etc) why would they need a Space Marine Chapter?

The new angle of Magos Biologis is a different angle but from the lexicanum

 

"Ordo Xenos (The Threat Without) - Investigates and eliminates alien influence and plots against the Imperium. It is not known when the Ordo Xenos was founded, however it is believed to be of a similar age to the Ordo Malleus"

 

It is tricky working within the fluff but I think the Idea that the admech are messing with and observing your astartes might be enough to make it different enough to work. You might have even found the holy grail a chapter that can have mixed gene seed just for study mind you :P

 

On a different note I know everyone says that the admech have the Skitarii and titan legions so why would they need a adeptus astartes, but the inquistion can call on the titan and Skitarii legions and yet they have the blackwatch too as well as every other agency within the imperium at their calling and again from lexicanum

 

If required, Inquisitors may call on the service and/or resources of any Imperial servant or organisation. Not even a High Lord of Terra may refuse the order of an Inquisitor without good reason. This power extends across the Adeptus Astartes and the Adeptus Mechanicus, however learned Inquisitors show discretion and request the assistance of the Space Marines and attempt not to anger the Adepts of Mars.

 

I think that there is president for the admech at least feeling (funny word to use in the same sentense as admech) the need for their own space marines ie the Steel Confessors are prove enough. I think the difficultly is in making them different enough to justify not using steel confessors or iron hands etc .

- You are correct the biggest problem is building the fluff and foundation to make it reasonable that the AdMech would need their own chapter besides the Iron Hands, Steel Confessors, and other chapters that all ready help them so much.

- I think that the Magos Biologis line makes the most sense so far. It isnt the only one im still looking at though. Alot of people have been saying, well the AdMech as this, this, and that, ehay would they need or want space marines? In my mind an organization like the AdMech would want any military unit or toy that they can lay their hands and claws on. What kind of Imperial organization, especially one with the power of the AdMech would go...."no no thank you we dont want a chapter of the best warriors in the galaxy," "we all ready have some other stuff."

- I mean yes, my idea is against canon, and the strict seperation laws that the Index Astartes and other government rules have established....but hey im just havin fun with all this. If I was the head of the AdMech I would do everything possible to have every possible military tool that i could get.....and Space Marines are one of the most powerful tools in the Imperial tool box.

Have to agree the fabricator general would want SM, after all they make new chapters, supply chapters and train key personel in the chapters and are an independent organisation why wouldnt they want SM. Still the Scions of Mars angle could be more extreme than we think and all scions chapters are mearly puppet organisations.

Ok so the post above is a cool post from the Adeptus Mechanicus forum here on B&C. Really cool explanation and philosophy on the AdMech. Its a real good read, I suggest it to any one interested in any SM chapter that has any close relationship with the AdMech. To me it makes it seem that the "machine spirit" is the real heart of the imperium....the AdMech knows it the best and the rest of the imperium is allied with the AdMech because they want to return humanity to "high tech." The AdMech, machine spirit, stc's....these are all the real heart and mind of the Imperium.
