littlbitz
In my preparing for the Colonial, I thought I would build a couple of new Dreads. Nothing fancy, and I took a lot of short cuts in their painting in my haste to get them battle ready, but non the less here they are. Good ole' Frik and Frak ready for combat... brainwashed
Those look great. I really enjoy your clean painting style and highlights. I'd love to see a little more embellishment on them since you paint so well, but it sounds like you were trying to get them knocked out quickly and one can always go back and add markings and details later on. Nice work! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/249677-frik-and-frak/#findComment-3024654 Share on other sites
littlbitz
Thanks Mav! The abridged version of the list is Logan, a 10 man WG unit (8 in TDA with 2 AC and 2 in PA one with Scouts and one with BC), 2x small GH packs with RBs, a BC pack in a Rhino, Wolf Scouts, 2x Dreads, a Pred Ann with LC all around, and a full LF pack with HBs. I have a little finishing work to do, but I'll post a picture of the whole list one day this week. Thanks Brainwashed, I think I will wait and see if they earn some embellishments, and then add them after next weekend, IF they deserve it. Brother Mjollner
Not to shabby for a quick paint job. How long did these take you? I will say this, some of the folks here at the fang can really crank out the finished paint jobs. littlbitz
Thanks again guys! I guess I spent about 2 hours a piece on actual paint time. Believe it or not, the most time consuming part was priming the model. I put both Dreads together in sections and primed accordingly using army painter sprays. The Body and armor plate sections, are sprayed with the Army Painter Wolf grey, and the other sections I give a spray of Plate armor. The Gun arms are the tricky part in the painting process, because I went with the Plate spray and then hand paint the shoulder sections to match, the Wolf Grey Spray from Army Painter matches near perfectly with my own 50/50 blend.
