IK Viper
I think LC are the sickest looking CC weapon around and really want to add some to my army but have not been able to find a reliable way of getting many of them at a time. Even Bitz Barn doesnt seam to carry duel LC pairs or a rt and lft handed LC. If I want to add say 3 pairs of LC to my army and not spend a fortune what should I do? Am i basically stuck buying 2 SM Vet Mk II boxes? Also, can you effectively convert the Terminator LCs onto a power armor model without them looking retarded? JamesI
I've never tried to convert the terminator ones, so I'll skip that part. There is (or was, probably not available anymore except through getting lucky finding it) a blister pack of Veteran with pair of lightning claws. That's how I got the pair on the one Vanguard I have with a pair. All my other lightning claws are left handed from the Commander box. Warbringer
Space Wolves have pairs in their Grey Hunter Box Sets Two. Where you from I'm in the UK and willing to trade for a pair or two. PM me if interested. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/249734-lighning-claws-where/#findComment-3025463 Share on other sites
Brother Nihm
Also, can you effectively convert the Terminator LCs onto a power armor model without them looking retarded?I am sure there is, but most attempts will look naff due to the size difference.I recommend looking in the SM Captain box, or go over the Space Wolf bits, they're bound to have PA claws. wizardofnoz
BitzBox has the Space Wolf versions, that with a little conversion, would work. Scroll to the bottom of the page (OOS @ time of post though). Bannus
I have several pair waiting in my bitz box for my Raven Giard army. Thw way I did it was by using the left claw from the Captain kit and a right claw from the Space Wolves set (the left claw from the SW set requires some serious alteration for a Codex army). Spinsanity
There's always this pair (metal though) : http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/...dId=prod1060049 Most likely requires cutting the right arm off... or this one (Finecast ) : http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/...Id=prod1460203a Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/249734-lighning-claws-where/#findComment-3025596 Share on other sites
Grotsmasha
The plastic termi ones are useable. You need to cut the PA arm off rightup hard against the elbow, and the claw rightup against the bulky fist part, no arm at all and they look acceptable. IK Viper
I am in the US so trading would be alot more hassle then its worth sorry :-( I feel like GW should sell them as a weapons pack, wish they would, In a Space Wolves Gray Hunter box I would get what? 1 pair? the SM Capt. comes with one pair im guessing. Does anyone have pics of a Terminator LC converted onto a Power Armor? Grotsmasha
I'll post one when I get home. As another option, Chapterhouse Studios has a LC type weapon that may suit PA better, ill edit in a linky. Cheers, Jono EDIT: http://chapterhousestudios.com/index.php?r...;product_id=228 There's open and close-fisted options Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/249734-lighning-claws-where/#findComment-3025795 Share on other sites
Chapter Master Ignis Domus
The Grey Hunters box has two pairs. They're quite easy to file down into standard claws, and are pretty cheap on bits sites, as there isn't much demand for them. IK Viper
I really like the look of the Chapeter House LC's might go with that I think. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/249734-lighning-claws-where/#findComment-3026148 Share on other sites
Quixus
EDIT:http://chapterhousestudios.com/index.php?r...;product_id=228 There's open and close-fisted options I think they have the same problem as TDA claws, because: The shoulder armor pieces are approximately the same size as the shoulder armor on a Games Workshop Terminator model and will easily accept any of our "Terminator Shoulder Pads". The shoulder armor can be easily cut down in size to accomodate any of our "Power Armor Shoulder Pads". Has anyone bought them yet? Grotsmasha
The Chapterhouse ones are Termi-sized, but the fist itself is less bulky making it more in scale for PA. Quixus
So the idea is to cut them off at the wrist and mount them on PA arms? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/249734-lighning-claws-where/#findComment-3027089 Share on other sites
Grotsmasha
Yep, pretty much, detailed answer in post 8 of this thread. The method is exactly the same. vharing
I have converted a number of them out of termi ones. It is really quite easy. I will try and make a tutorial.
