I know, I was just teasin yah ;)  How are your razors treating yah in your games so far? and what made you choose that weapon type over the others for your razors? I ask only because I've yet to field more than one in my army. PS love the old school predator! Matt D
what made you go with the pred instead of, say, more long fangs or another dread? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/249737-some-pre-game-pictures/#findComment-3025706 Share on other sites
littlbitz
Well Matt, I took scouts as my 3rd elite choice, so another Dread was out of the question short of taking "The Fell Handed" himself, and I didn't take another set of Long Fangs for a couple of reasons, one was that I just don't have a Long Fang pack with Lascannons finished yet, and two, I like the idea of being able to move and shoot, plus the additional armored unit helps draw fire away from the Razorbacks. Oh, and I love that old model. Â Mav, I like the two Razorbacks, I went with Twin-linked LasCannons over Las-Plas because I don't trust the one shot. The re-roll makes those LasCannons much more reliable. Though I do tend to do the good ole' 1-2 roll quite often. Â I have found that the combination of the Pred and the two RBs have provided me with enough Las Cannon fire power for most games. I'm not saying the list is perfect by any stretch of the imagination, but every Dark Eldar player I've faced thus far hates this list. Karack Blackstone
Love the models, littlebitz. Also, nice painting techniques. Â The high number of shots, plus twin linked at solid strength make Auto Cannons a pretty good choice overall. Marshal Wilhelm
Those shoulder pads are hand painted? Â When I look at such painting, rather than just painting in between the lines, it makes me nervous.... :) Â Is it hard, does it take a lot of goes to finally get good at the saw-tooth pattern? Â +++ Â To be a little whiney, the photo is quite blue, and I am not talking about your grey  But I do understand how finicky taking consistently good photos can be :P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/249737-some-pre-game-pictures/#findComment-3025833 Share on other sites

littlbitz
Thanks again guys, sorry about the picture quality, I just took these quickly on my kitchen table. I really need to get a photo box. Â @BlackCat, yes most of the hair and beards on the Long Fangs is green stuff, as is Logan's hair and beard. I am still learning, but my sculpting skills are starting to improve. Â @Marshal, all of my pack markings are free hand painted. When I first started painting wolves it took me a few tries to get right and was a bit frustrating, but remember, I have been painting Space Wolves since 2nd edition, and this current Wolf army which is now weighing in at over 10000 points is my 3rd go at Space Wolves, so that is a whole lot of practice. So, in short it really takes me no time at all anymore to paint those patterns on my Space Wolves. Â Oh, that is my favorite Long Fang as well Hendrik, I wish I was more consistent with my sculpting, but I'm getting there. littlbitz
Yeah, I use pretty much the same technique, I outline the markings, then fill them in. Here is a picture from a tutorial I did that's here on the forums You can see on the knee pad, where I do the outline of the Pack Markings first, then I just fill it in with black. Here is the Link to the tutorial, Part I and Part II, for those interested.
