Aside from looking cool and that being reason enough for me to want some, I'd like to know if any one has had any joy from BS4 snipers that have enough of a bite to fight back in CC There's currently a topic on the first page titled Sniper Scouts. Chapter Master Ignis Domus Posted March 29, 2012 Share Posted March 29, 2012 Melta guns and melta bombs is redundant. A melta and WG combi melta should be fine against most tanks. If not, even kraks against 10 is decent. If you take the WG, you can give him 5 pt meltabombs instead of the whole squad. But what happens when your melta misses, which it will. You'll have dropped nearly a hundred points into a unit which has done absolutely nothing. The melta bombs almost completely guarantee a dead/seriously injured tank, and for a mere 25 points, compared to the 23 points you'd be spending on one melta bomb in you went the Wolf Guard route. It takes a six to hit anything moving more than 6" (cruising speed) in the previous turn right? In close combat, that is, and that is what he was talking about.
