Certainly a good choice for stomping Necrons into the dirt, but in all-comers lists I'm not so sure, since Grey Knights and Ordnance Template hell armies will enjoy Thunder Wolves taking up much of the points available to a Space Wolf player.

Not sure on that one, depends on how likely you feel you'll play GKs I guess!

i just happened to think that since WW do not need line of sight that they don't care about night fight at all... sorry if it sounds like i am beating a dead horse, i am just writing as this stuff comes to me.

Whirl Winds? Doen't think that is a good choice since Wraiths have 2 wounds.

If its Necrons with nightfighting and lightning attacks than their is 1 very simple solution to deal with it. Droppods.

You can get in range fairly easily so the darkness shouldnt be to much of a deal, and with some runepriests in those pods you can start sniping that Stormlord out of a unit.

This is theory crafting at its best, so please take it with a grain of salt, but at the end of the day, wraiths have a 3+ save. Power weapons are a moot point. That makes fighting them very much like fighting TWC with or without shields. Volume of attacks is what is needed to take them out.

They are not immune to instant death and are only T4, so any S8 attack that makes it past their saving throws kills a model. A search light can help a ton simply by allowing you to put wounds on them before they hit your front lines.

Wraiths will be supported by CCB's and annihilation barges, so they will have to be dealt with as well, all the well preparing to receive the assault from the wraiths. If you can split the squads, you might fare better. You might need to sacrifice a few units to slow them down long enough to eat through each squad. All in all they are a new army but not a lot of people have flocked to play them, so it's not easy to get a lot of games in against them.

Just my 2 cents though.

It really isn?t theory crafting, it is common sense. Volume of fire is ALWAYS the asnwer when dealing with opponents that have a great save. When said save is accompanied by only Toughness 4, it is even a better day for volume of fire.
