Lukas goes last

So I was checking over Lukas the Trickster yesterday and I found something funny.

Lukas does not have frag or krak grenades.

So looks like his I5 is now I1 when going into terrain even with the rest of his unit.

Not that I take him in anything other than fun games, but it's a pretty hilarious oversight on GWs part.

Grenades are on a per-model basis. So if I buy grenades for Ninja Kittens 1, 2, and 3, Ninja Kittens 4 and 5 will still go at I1. Of course, since they're the hated xenos psyker kittens, none of them would be alive to throw the grenades.

Isn't he an upgrade character though? meaning, does he exchange his current wargear for his new.

My thought was that he would start with the standard gear and exchange the pistol for Plasma pistol, and his Chainsword for Wolf Claw, why would he lose the grenades?

I could be wrong, as I can't look into this further because I'm at work and don't have the Codex in front of me, but it kinda makes sense to me that way.

Nope, his wargear lists power armor and various things that other bloodclaws have.

Also, he is not an addon to an existing bloodclaw, he is a special character that is an upgrade to the squad.

Nothing about that negates the fact that he does not have any grenades listed in his wargear.

Just like a terminator wolfguard that is added does not benefit from the squads grenades, he does not have them on his wargear.

Sorry, it's probably an oversight but that's how it works.

Actually he is an add on to an existing Bloodclaw. The entry is one Bloodclaw can be upgraded to Lucas the Trickster. You have to pay the points for Lucas and one Bloodclaw to be upgraded to add him to your list. He's not like a Wolfgaurd being added after the fact.

This only came up because I had only Lukas left and he was charging a vehicle and I wanted to just double check to see if he had melta bombs.

Imagine my surprise when I found out he doesn't even have grenades. But, I also found out that his pelt of the doppelgangrel does work against shooting attacks (albiet, he has to be alone for it to work).
