Stormeagle Assault Gunship

although the caestus assault ram is legal for SW in 40k strictly speaking

some people just have a problem with forgeworld including some TO's

So far Stormravens are still Wolf in Apoc only, or if your playing a friendly game at home.

another reason to see the rules will the stormeagle be available to SW's

I'll be interested to see what the official rules turn out to be.

As is, I like the concept, especially with the possibility of Typhoon Missile Launcher up front, Vengeance in back, and TL Lascannons on the wings: lots of 48" goodness that can be split fired!

It seems like it may have the same identity crisis as a Godhammer Land Raider though. Still, the idea of having a full 10 man Wolf Guard Pack in terminator armor pile out of that thing after it hoses the LZ w/ TL Multi-Melta fire: tempting!

To be honest I love the model, but the Storm Raven (SR) would seem to have a bigger punch.

£80 for a Storm Eagle (SE) when a SR is around £40 and can carry full Grey Hunter pack with WGPL and a IC and a dread.

So twice as much money for the SE to have 8 extra models against, When SR seems to have more weapon options and a dread, for me a homing becon to aid with those Drop pods assaults.

It would seem to me that the SR is a better choice?

Although I am very lucky with my gaming group, as they allow me to use anything that is space marine ...................... and I do :(

I like the model and the idee that mij grey hunter come running out of there storm eagle....BUT I want some lascannons on that thing (cause they look cool) and a muliti melta at front. This makes the model 300pts don't like that price tag. To many eggs in one basket.

If its gets legal maybe I will be crazy enough.

Is it possible to put 2 grey hunter units in the Storm eagle?

Would it not be cool to have two drop ship speeding in and dropping there cargo of grey hunter on the field to seize and control the objectives.

I always wanted that cause in the novels you read a lot about thunderhawks dropping there cargo of grey hunters on the field. Just love the theme.

No, just a single unit of up to 20 models.

You can't do double Grey Hunter packs, but you can do a single maxed-out Blood Claws pack, which can seize objectives. Other than the Land Raider Crusader, this is the only transport that allows you to do that well, and gives you an excuse to actually run Blood Claws, which typically get omitted from army lists.

I am very seriously considering buying a Stormraven to use as a counts-as Stormeagle. I've been wanting a flyer transport for decades, and finally could actually use one, in friendly games that allow Forgeworld rules. Although I like this model a lot better, I just cant justify paying double the cost for a resin model, when I could get a nice plastic kit for a reasonable price.

I think it'll be the newest member of my Wolf Air Wing. Maybe the Drakkenwing? Of course, I'd feel obliged to get a second Stormraven to give it two wingmen.

I agree for my Draigowing using Exterminator Strike Force and proxy the eagle for a command flyer; removing the top wing tho imo,

Its 40k approved no? So you only need to inform them (maybe in advance for fairness), you do not need their OK.
