I am a big fan of the thousand suns and some heretical guardsmen holding the city and the Wolves doing what they do best, busting in and hunting the chaos worshiping scum through the city towards some epic center piece where someone is calling a greater demon of some sort from the warp... While done a lot it is classic and always good.

Great looking terrain Hendrik!!

I really like that first shot of your Rhino, the toe cable with the wolf tail hanging from it is an idea I am going to steal from you!!

I look forward to see more of this as you complete it!!

End of Line

With the size of that force, maybe you could do a version of Wolf at the Door; facing a DE raiding party that once beaten forces you to then take on the human population that still resists the Emperor represented by IG.

part of the problem is i have no non-SW models so the pictures going with the army would just be dramatic views of the wolves and the city there fighting in.

@truesons of russ: a story like that might seem like a cheap copy of wolf's honour

@mav; still have lots to paint, and a thesis to write but i hope that writing a saga will allow me to relax from all that scientific writing for an evening or two

@ramses: you mean we'd be fighting together with the unloyal pdf forces against the DE and then face eachother or?

current stand:

chaos marines: 1

dark eldar:1

genestealer cult: 1

Yes, like A Wolf at the Door.

I go for zombies (but the occassional stealer cultist as well) - if you want more info on genestealer cult stuffs then (if you don't have a copy yourself) have a nosey at The Emperor Protects, it's part of the Deathwatch RPG set, just started reading it and for background stuff it's brilliant.

Either way good luck and I look forward to reading brother ;)

i just undercoated some barricades and streetsign post i have made from the left-over so i guess i'm obliged now to write about those!

given the popularity of zombies i think i'll go with these! heck can you imagine a rhino and landraider driving through a mob of zombies?

Dunedain looked up from his scope. with a crackling sound he briefly openen his vox channel to contact the rest of his pack --"there's still one that seems to be alive in those haywire fields Harold, an NCO ging by the looks of his tattered uniform"--

--"Grimnald spotted him aswell and is currently making his way towards him. have you spotted any sign of hostilities?"--

--"negative, shadowblade out"-- and with a low buzzing hiss the vox channel was out. Dunedain knew how important it was to keep radio silence, afterall aslong as they hadn't identified what had caused the demise of arhenium prime the hostiles could be picking up on their vox feed. Erik had briefed them earlier that day. Dunedains hair jumped upwards at the thought of erik morkai again. The man was a monster with arms the size of trees, and yet his face made him look sleek like a seawyrm. His eyes would be the thing he'd remember the most. Eyes that shone so bright as if an eternal fire was set ablaze inside of them yet his gaze was enough to freeze a man. Dunedain knew why the other wolf lords feared Erik. It was the only thing they could feel about him! He quickly banned these thoughts and focused on what was said rather then who said it. Erik had told them that arhenium prime had been placed under quarantaine by an inquisitor going by the name of Pox pertentula, and that no trafic to or off , nor contact with the planet was allowed anymore. An ordo medica investigation team had been sent toward the planet but no report was delivered by them as to why arhenium prime had been placed under quarantaine. All Erik knew was that now 6 months later still not a single message had been send from arhenium, and most of the capital was ablaze and lay in ruins. It was because of this that erik had send in his scouts to report as to what had happened there and if further actions were needed. Eriks great company had been called to war in the paradellum system, merely 1 day of warp travel from arhenium because of a chaos uprising and should arheniums condition be linked with that event it meant the conflict had now reached inter-systemsize and might even be the forecomer of yet another black crusade.

Peering through his scope Dunedain saw Grimnald closing in on the wounded NCO trapped in the haywire. When he was within 3 meters grimnald broke from cover, combat blade drawn, prepared for everything when suddently the NCO noticed him. A loud shockwave went through the air as the NCO's head exploded in a blast of puss, brains and gore. Dunedain has spotted it as soon as the NCO turned his head towards him. His face was pale and greyish, his eyes filled with maggots and the flesh from his face eaten off, leaving only some musle tissue and the skull. wounds no-one could survive and yet this man had turned his head himself towards Grimnald. The taint of chaos was upon this world, and with it it had brought a plague...

With a crackling sound Grimnald opened his vox chanel again, this time to all of his scout brothers.--" Harold, contact the twin wolf, tell them Arhenium Prime has fallen to the plague, the rest of you make sure to avoid any contact with hostiles, and put on your rebreathers, for all we know it's airborn! Rendez-vous on our extraction position and everybody hurry up!!"--

As Dunedain quickly fastened his rebreather he took one last look through his scope. On the horizon he could see bloated bodies stumbling towards his position, drawn by the sound of his shot. He knew the haywire would buy them some time but none of them knew how much. He knew that soon Morkai's breath would descend on this world though, be it a matter of hours or days...

Looks good (in a rotten, putrefying way)... I'm wondering, who is directing the zombie horde? Maybe if the Scouts can take the controller down, it will affect the shambling mass-assault on the Wolves' position.

Death Guard's the natural candidate, but I'm sure there could be others!
