Wolf Lords, Lone Wolves and Fenrisian Wolves

No, the Thunderwolf counts as a piece of war gear that makes the Lords T5. The Fenrisian Wolves also count as war gear, but they are most commonly used as ablative wounds. Since the Fen Wolves are war gear it won't affect the unit's over all toughness.

End of Line

Since the Fen Wolves are war gear it won't affect the unit's over all toughness.

This part is incorrect. While the Fen.Wolves were purchased as wargear, they are models with a profile in a unit with the purchasing model. As such, their T4 will become the unit's majority toughness if there are two Wolves and the Lord (2X T4/1X T5 = T4) and no other models.

Wow, that sucks then. So are the fen wolves worth the extra wounds/attacks, for the cost a of T4?

In my opinion - generally yes. Not only do you have the protection of ablative models against shooting, and the extra attacks in CC but with careful positioning you can use them to temporarily nullify an enemy IC in CC. As the Lord will count as a seperate unit during CC resolution, getting the Wolves into base contact with the opponent IC will force him to attack them while your Lord carves up his unit. (It's also good against units with "On the Charge" CC tricks like C:BA, C:BT, & C:GK.

Yes, because once the first Fenrisian wolf is killed there is no majority toughness of 4 and it reverts back to 5.

Additionally, the first kill will probably be from a long ranged weapon with high strength, where T4 or T5 doesn't matter, right?
