Korellian Posted April 2, 2012 Share Posted April 2, 2012 Hi all! I've never posted any of my projects online before but I wanted to share this one. I'm doing a word bearers army in mostly 28mm scale. I wanted to get a more imposing look to my marines compared to a standard model. So far I have a test mini done and a dreadnought that is waiting for my base inserts to arrive before I can finish it. I'm gonna be taking it squad by squad so it's gonna take a while to get done I expect but I will update as I go. Also most of the bits I'm using are non-GW, so I'll be mainly ordering from various sources for each unit. This is the test mini for the power amrour marines, the pencil scrawl is just some notes on where I will put some brass etch details. I won't be using that head either as those are the heads I use for my iron warriors. Most likely a chaos star like the one that Erebus has on his loincloth with some script around it. @Circus Nurlging The banner is from the plastic marauder horsemen set and the red is blended up from dark flesh (GW colour). cathar the great Posted May 9, 2012 Share Posted May 9, 2012 Maybe this old tutorial of mine can help/inspire you for the banner: Clickyclick The bottom line with free hand banners is to find a symbol or image that you like, dumb it down as much as possible and then just slap it on and hope it works. Banner on the dreadnought isn't done but I'm in no rush. I'd rather make some progress on the army and go back to it. Korellian Posted May 30, 2012 Author Share Posted May 30, 2012 He got a solo photo cos I thought he was definitely the badass of the group. The heads are the skull tribe helmets from maxmini. I'll probably do some extra work on the tentacle on the Slaaneshi icon bearer but I'll do that when I can squeeze it in.
