Jehoel
A little while back I found here on B&C a tutorial on how to magnetize heads so that they could be turned, but I can't seem to find it anymore. Can anyone help me find this again or am I just totally bug nuts crazy? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/250148-magnetized-heads-that-can-turn/ Share on other sites
KhorneHunter57x
Look to the venerable halls of the Librarium, repository of the Legio's knowledge, and you will find what you require, Brother. Jehoel
That is the one! Thank you, Brother. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/250148-magnetized-heads-that-can-turn/#findComment-3032320 Share on other sites
Chaptermaster Graymantle
There's a much easier and cheaper way of getting movable heads. Just take a tiny ball of tack-it and put it into the hole for the neck. Insert the head and hey presto! Trevak Dal
I haven't seen that tutorial, but perhaps you could consider pinning (and not gluing one side) as a simple work around? It's not like the head will be load bearing (like say, an arm) and you could have helmeted and unhelmeted marines. Jacinda
I think the point of the nut and magnet on edge is that not only can the head pivot side to side, it also has some range in elevation as well. You could be looking up and left or down and to the right, for example. Pinning would certainly be a cheaper alternative, tho. Chaptermaster Graymantle
Listen, I know you're asking about magnetizing, but Tack-it (also called Blu-Tack), is by far the best option for getting posable and interchangeable heads. Tack-it comes in a variety of colours, it can be used again and again, it gives a full range of motion, lets you swap heads, makes it so the heads don't come off easily, so you can drop your model, throw it across the room, hold it upside down etc. Very little chance of the head coming loose, yet the tac itself is easy to remove. I've done this for over 200 Marines, and all at the cost of about 6$, or about 3,5 £; and 40 minutes.
