10 paladins

5 paldains

2 NDKs.

blocked LoS . hard to focus fire on one unit , so movable units with multiple shoting weapons are the bomb. multi wound allocation makes some of the rules of zone not so painfull . 30" teleportation move through walls when your scoring x1-2 is the bomb.

Ok, so I don't know GK very well, but there are some tactics that are transferrable;

Things to remember: In Zone Mortalis, all Flamers are twin-linked. Take Incinerators. Take those Purgator thingies with the flame attack.

Things to remember: In Zone Mortalis, you are unlikely to have LoS range greater than 12", though occasionally it'll hit 24" if there's a long corridor.

Things to remember: Objectives are armour 11 and have a 4+ save vs shooting, so bring meltabombs and +Str weapons.

Things to remember: Vehicles may appear crippled, but if you can drop a flame tank or a vindicator in a corridor in front of an objective, you can't be flanked and they'll have to move into range of your Big Gun to have a chance of killing you. Fortunately for everyone else, GK's don't get Bhaal Predators. ^^; Just don't take sponsons, they won't fit. The 'wide' corridor is Rhino width.

What does this mean? Zone Mortalis makes Melta and Flamer into god-weapons, especially if a power surge knocks the lights out. Most corridors are only the width of a flamer template, or two at the most. Careful application of corners can allow you to get assaults on units that would usually rush you too quickly to get that pre-emptive strike against.

Finally, counter to what jeske says (or at least, I think he says. >> I can barely read his posts) - the Dreadknight is pretty much precluded from Zone Mortalis games if you use all the rules. ^^; It's too tall.

Interceptors, however, with a shunt move are not. They can shunt into enemy territory with pinpoint accuracy, threatening enemy units and contesting objectives while unleashing firepower on the move. Note, their moves are described as teleportation so they can use that 12" move to teleport through walls and zip all around the board ;) Enclosed spaces? Not a problem. Zot!

Teminators are simply awesomesauce here still. Heavier armor, better close combat ability, scoring. Strike Squads aren't as big of a deal with no line of sight for shooting superiority, no real cover to speak of, and forced to be in close range. With narrow zones having a large squad size is actually almost more of a hinderence than help. Paladins even more so.

If I were playing, I'd go with a main force of Terminators (or Paladins!) backed by an Interceptor squad or two.

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned purgation squads.... just take a ton of incinerators and you're aces.

My Daemonhunter list for mortalis would have to contain the following:

- Purgation squads + incinerators

- Interceptor squads

- terminator squads

- inquisitor (pick your flavour)

- henchman melta squad

- (possible second inquisitor)

- (henchman ccw or melta squad)

It's too tall.

no one in their right mind would model their ndk standing up . all I have seen where either 3ed eldar wright lord belly style [rules say stuff about model size but nothing about the actual positioning of models on a base] or crunching .

+ the hvy incinerator is a god weapon in that setting . and it has a huge range you can actualy port behind a tank which cant even turn because the corridors are so narrow and infantry bubble rap doesnt help here at all .

Every single NDK I've seen has been modelled standing up. Probably because they were modelled by GW Staffers who have no choice, or else by little kids with their golly Awesome Win Buttons. >>

Either way, modelled upright or not, it's still clearly too tall. Besides, isn't the Dreadknight's base larger than a Dreadnought's?

You know, I'm awfully glad, I don't have to play the likes of you. Do you also model your infantry, as if they've been dug into the ground and claim cover saves? :D

As I read the rules, you give a hoot about actual modelling, elaborate basing and conversion, and go with an approximation of an 'out of the box' mini
