jerryrich
Ok, Im about to go somewhere for my job with limited resourses. I would like to play some BFG with some of my other hobby friends, does anyone have some pictures or something so i can create some BFG fleets from cardboard/ paper (could probably copy pages from the BFG PDFs)? and does anyone know what size bases go with what class of ship? I'd like to be able to print out some B&W pics of ships, glue or tape them to bases (plastic or cardboard) and play a game on our improvised gaming table. Also what lvl of points would work on a 4x4 table as we will be limited in our space to play. I will be buying some models after i return but this is for some hardship gaming. lol Thank yall for reading and pointing me in the correct direction. Maligoare
All the pictures you should need are on either the GW homepage, or via a Google images search. Marines are quite blocky and angular, so would probably lend themselves to this course of action. Battleships and equivalents are on large flying bases, cruisers and escorts are on small flying bases. The scaling tends to run 1-2" for escorts, 3-4" for Cruisers, and 5-6" for battleships, with Imperial Navy ships being quite a bit larger than Space Marines. I'd suggest no more than 1000 points on a 4x4' board, unless you want a really chaotic and random sort of game (i.e. very reliant on short ranged weapons, and whether or not a cruiser explodes at just the wrong moment, crippling half of your fleet). Tyranids would also love higher points games squashed on a smaller board, as they are the only race that actually has close combat between ships! Rik Lightstar
Even base sizes are irrelevant as ALL measuring should be done to the centre pin of the flying stand, or that's what the book says, imagine the models as "super-zoomed-in" images of the contents of the tip of the pin.
