I'm in gael and need to settle a dispute.

 

If a unit shoots and destroys a transport can it then assault the die barked unit barring all other restrictions?

Counting the crater of transport or wreckage as difficult terrain and dangerous depending on the result on table, yes.

This is actually common knowledge.

You would be surprised how many people missed that note. I remember having to pull out my rule book in almost every game for this exact scenario less than a year ago

I thought it was common knowledge too. Which is why I had trouble finding it in the book when I had to prove it. Even more than that I had to prove it because four other people disagreed it was so.

The problem is, is that it isn't in the rulebook where you think it should be. its not under shooting or assaulting, its under the transport vehicle rules.
