puck
So a friend of mine got me a three pack of the bolter marines and I'd really like to show how much I appreciated his gift by doing a neat conversion on them. I google searched and got an idea or two but I'd really like to hear some ideas from the community. I'm open to pretty ambitious ideas if you've got 'em. Green Stuff don't scare me. Kierdale
Well, the simplest that comes to mind would be beefing up their bolters, jazzing up their armour with seals and the like, and making them into Sternguard...though the downside is their rather uninspiring poses. I think the legs would be relatively easy to repose (admittedly with some GS) but it's the arms that limit poses. I suppose (don't have the model in front of me at the moment) you could squeeze a bolt pistol-wielding hand onto the right arm and perhaps a chainsword one onto the left for a rather undramatic assault marine. If you have some spare heavy weapons you could take inspiration from Space Crusade and work up some Devastators. Cutting away the arms leaving only the shoulder pads still attached, and remodeling the chest/belly, you could stick some new forearms on and get some different poses out of them. I have six myself (five from the paint set, one I won for speed painting) and am interested to see what suggestions others come up with. Actually I think making them into a tribute to the old Spcae Crusade marines would be awesome. You could even do the sergeant, cutting away the existing left arm, putting a BP or PP in his right hand and a new chainsword or P-fist on the left. If you still have that game, you could even go so far as to replace the old marines with new marines, basically... Jacinda
There's always the "changing clips" conversion. It is super easy but a nice effect. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/250249-conversion-ideas/#findComment-3033527 Share on other sites
Doghouse
If you are talking about the snap fix style marines then I've got some examples of conversions that might be of use to you in my thread here: http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/index.p...t=0&start=0 Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/250249-conversion-ideas/#findComment-3033611 Share on other sites
