The Pure Red is closer, as its brighter, and also it doesn't need a primer.

Still prime with metals and resins involved, just a thin priming coat as paint don't stick as well on these materials, I would still prime thin with plastic as well

 

I was under the impression that all of the Army Painter sprays were actually coloured primer rather than just being spray paint.

Correct, but like all primer metal and resin can be an sob, and like all primer you work in numerous thin coats, hence why I always do a thin black coat and then dragon red coats
