Photoshopping a Symbol

Hey guys,

 

Was just wondering wether any of you chaps who have and know how to use Photoshop correctly, would be able to do me a favour?

 

Am looking to put the Genesis Chapter Symbol on a plain Black and White setting. All the current pictures i find on Google etc are Coloured and some have Shines to them.

 

I was wondering wether anyone would be able to take the picture below and remove everything other than the symbol itself, ie: remove the Colours and preferably remove the Shine too.

 

So what i would end up with would be a plain Black and white, 2D Genesis Symbol :D

Theres only so much i can do on Microsoft Paint, lol, so any help would be greatly appreciated :devil:

 

The reason i'm after this image is because i am thinking of purchasing a Battlefoam carry case and was interested in having a Custom foam Topper.
