Hyaenidae
So, I begin my Black Templars. This thread will consist of homemade fluff and minis converted to the top of my abilities, dedicated to Dorn's most dedicated Sons. As a warning, despite my own beliefs of staying true to the fluff, I will be bending some of the fluff rules here and there....you've been warned  . Input is always welcome, (both for the fluff and models) though at times my only excuse will be "Umm...cuz it's cool." As a teaser, here is the last trasmission recieved by the Eternal Crusader from these ancient warriors.... ---Warning: Weak astropathic signal strength: Message Fractured: Attempting to boost warplength sequence: Boosted to 25%: Attempting secundus trace path: Success partial: Message follows:--- To: The current High Marshall of the Black Templars, via Eternal Crusader From: Honour-Castellan Al-Rashid, aboard Mercury-Class Strike Cruiser Path of Dust Location: Edge of Calixis Sector, near Screaming Vortex (+Danger-Close+) Transmitted: 993.M41 (+Seven Year Warp Distortion+) To the current High Marshall of the Black Templars, In accordance with the Edict of Ancients, I, Honour-Castellan Al-Rashid, report the status of the Viam Veteres Crusade, as we have every 100 years the last 8,500 years Terran standard. Currently, we stand at just over two dozen Brothers, none younger than 500 years as per our Edict; plus the continued support of Venerable-Brother Ilya, Custodia-Reclusiarch Khalid ibn Dorn, and Champion Zatoichi the Blind. Last influx of Brother-Templars stands at 250 years ago. Currently on station near the Screaming Vortex, conducting ship-to-ship boarding actions and area denial patrols against renegade Reavers. Outnumbered 10,000 to 1, no outside support...situation excellent. We purge, we cleanse, we destroy the shadows ,and we die with honour and His name on our lips. The Edict carries on, Lord. Yogi
Very cool boss. Very cool fluff. I think its the best you've made yet personally. Man I'm in the black templars forum, I never come here. Lord Exedore
But you should... We even managed to attract the attention of 1000 heathens... What an achievment, given that name and the "zealous lot" we are ;) I like your fluff. Mine was similar until I put WAY to much money into my "Small BT" force... Thus preventing me from using a "long lost crusade", but I feel confident, that you are going to achieve what you intend given the projects so far. Good luck and welcome aboard the eternal crusader... Brother Richard
Nice! I look forward to viewing the honors adorning the armor of these venerable veterans of the viam veteres venture. Hyaenidae
A quick question for y'all... let's say, theoretically ( :) ), that you wanted to create an all termie Templar army. Which list do you feel would fit best: DA or SW? Marshal Rohr
Space Wolves. It lets you reflect the 'each sword brethren is a hero' thing much better. Hyaenidae
I was thinking the same, but the DA termies matched the BT termies closely rules wise, which left me wondering. First mini should be up by Sunday, hopefully sooner! Marshal Rohr
The Sword Brethren should be customizable, not uniform. It defeats the purpose if they arnt. Noctus Cornix
Damn, that is one fine terminator you have their, buddy :P I like it, he's a great start. I especially love the just so minor little details like the crosses on the knee joints. It just seals the deal on this model. Marshal Severarse
"... situation, excellent." :P Haha! Definitely Templar. Nice termy. What part did the little knee cross come from? Marshal Wilhelm
The Sword Brethren should be customizable, not uniform. It defeats the purpose if they arnt. Deathwing don't have to all be the same - though people do spam Hammernators, I'll admit :P DW are not as customisable as SW, but you can have each squad member as unique if you so wish. reckoning
Model definitely has a Templar feel to him. The tiny details make him stand out. Ill be watching this one. Acebaur
I don't like the head. It looks weird, a helmeted head would be much better. However, otherwise its a great looking model Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/250570-the-viam-veteres-crusade/#findComment-3041854 Share on other sites
fivepointedstar
I like the SW terminator army idea better. since the SW dex. has counter attack shows more zealous warriors that care not for a meager assault they will fight on with out having to worry about frag gernades. Plus a sword brethren would look better to have a power weapon rather than a PF. And with the options to deck out your terminators in what ever you want = me likey alot. P.S. nice use of BA head on BT terminator. looks nice. ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/250570-the-viam-veteres-crusade/#findComment-3041898 Share on other sites
ScottishSmurf96
I love the Fuff and i like the idea of using the spacewolf codex to make them individuals, however I like your model but i am not sold on his head. it looks...odd? And DA are all fearless, also a Templar trait. I would go with DA if you want all Terminators. You can equip them for both shooting and CC at the same time and you can Deathwing assault them on first turn.
