Leksington
I think I'll try to paint a single SG like this. I don't think I've really worked with shading for that much black. Do I use white primer and work my way down with darker and darker layers of black? It should be a good painting exercise for me. Great idea. ;) Have you tried a black primer, then basecoat with Charadon Granite (or whatever the equivalent is in the new GW paint range!), then a heavy wash of Badab Black (again whatever the GW equivalent is, I think they're called shades or something like that!) a dry brush of charadon granite, again, then another heavy wash Badab Black adding as many layers as needed to shade the model down to black. (obviously, any highlighting and whatnot you'd insert in between the layers of Badab Black!) Hope this helps. :D Cpt. Midnightmare
I'm planning on painting my Sanguinor counts as in black/gold combo. With a lil' bit of red thrown in. So I say go for it!
