Living Lightning

So having started running a new list that has 3 rhino's with 8 man tooled up GH squad a WG with T hammer and Stormbolter, and of course a RP with Living Lighting. Now I roll with 3 of these + or - a few things to make each one unique.

What was Amazing was my game today that lasted a full seven turns and I fired a total of 76 living lighting bolts. Anyone had results like this in lists? (THis is my second battle with them and they have been insane results so far)

I found part of what you say true, but even with 3 RP, I found that at least if not one turn all 3 rhino's where shaken and unable to fire so neither could their troops. So I think an average per game for the 3 would be (well using a 4/3 alt we get 18 shots per RP if they fire all 7 turns. For a total of 54 shots Of LL if all can shoot every turn, and as I almost always had one stunned that leaves an average of only 36 LL shots over the course of a 7 course game if you average 2 RP having shots a turn, with Average dice rolls.

Anyone else use this set up, or seen it used. I know I rolled ALOT of 5's and 6's that game, but if you think about it that is 18 Autocannon shots over the course of the game. (with dice per).

I run 2 RP's for most games and I'll tell you, I roll 5's and 6's nearly all the time. So much so, that my regular opponent has donated one of his dice to me the last few games we played in the hopes it would bring my LL totals down (DE vehicles don't like LL), but it hasn't helped one bit!!

I have never bothered to keep count of the total shots however, guess I'll do that this coming game.

End of Line

In one tournament game I got 36 LL shots with a single Rune Priest, killing 3 Dreadnoughts and a Razorback. The same Rune Priest also made 3 6+ cover saves against 3 Dark Lances hits when he was by himself, in the open (due to going to ground.. )
i have stopped using living lightning due to its hit and miss nature. i actually prefer using murderous hurricane. i know they are completely different powers but i find that even if i don't wound the unit i target is often loosing models due to dangerous terrain tests next turn.

Yeah, Murderous Hurricane is a great Infantry killer and unit suppression power. But Living Lightning is a better light Armor and anti-MC power. These two powers together are my usual choices for the RunePriest in my all-comers lists. Living Lightning in the early game where range is an issue and for popping enemy Rhinos and Dreads. Murderous Hurricane in the later game to kill of bodies and suppress fast moving units before charging. For specific opponents Tempest's Wrath, Fury of the Wolf Spirits, or Jaws of the World Wolf will make an appearance.
