Crimson Fist Splinter Chapter

Hello All

I am floating an idea about doing a splint chapter from the Crimson Fists.

The idea is slightly based off a Nick Cave Song, well the title of it anyway.

The idea is as follows:

The Bloody Red Right Hand

A hundred years after the formation of the Crimsons Fists, the Fouth Company was on deployment out in the Segmentum Obscurus.

The Company found one of the lost plants of humanity. As the Company fell on the planet in oder to bring into the Imperium a

Warp Storm blocked the planet off from the rest of the Imperium. (I know a little Cliche).

The 4th Company helped by the planitary defence, they held out for for 600 years.

Fighting off sporadic attacks from the forces of Chaos. The Company inbetween attacks they recuited from the planet and managed

to keep their ranks up to strength.

Soon the eyes of chaos switched to another plaything leaving the planet alone. Sezing their chance the 4th company made for the Imperium.

Finding they had been declared Lost in Transit and the Crimsons Fist had already Mourned their loss, established another 4th company and were

conducting operations as required.

The 4th Company petitoned the Imperium to be expaneded and created into their own chapter.

With the loss of chapters already looming the Imperium granted the request figuring that the Company now Chapter would have a good core of Vet's

with which to base the squardon is formed.

Not allowed to use the colours of the Crimson Fists the Red Right Hand as they now called themselves, changed most of their colours but kept the red fist

as honour to their past.

I know a very rough idea of how they were formed. Just running out of time before work.

Pleae any ideas or comments welcome

Thank you.

okay, I'll be harsh but gentle.

Name, don't like it much ... but its yours so no big deal. I'd go with either Bloody Right Hand or Red Right Hand but not use both together.

Founding, Chapters are not founded this way. Founding are well planned and organized events. The High Lords deem that a founding is required --> AdMech Organize the Founding and select Chapters to take part --> AdMech grow sufficient Geneseed for the new Chapter --> Selected Parent Chapter trainings new Chapter. There's no real way to get around this. There have been a few (very few) that go against this setup ... The Disciplines of Caliban and The Consecrators come to mind.

Recruiting, I may be wrong (if so someone will correct me), but a single Company does not have the ability to make new Space Marines. Recruit ... yes, but those recruits are sent to the Chapter's Fortress Monestary for training and Geneseed implantation.

Just my thoughts on what you have so far. Hope it helps in some way.

I agree, while you may have geneseed on hand, you are missing key things, to include training devices. Asmuing you just so happened to be carrying new equipment to make space marines before getting stuck, there are rules that you're chapter has on who can recruit. Knowing the stubbornness of crimson fists, they would rather die to the last man than break tradition. It's litteraly why they are close to death.

You would not be able to recruit from the world like that. You may have gene-seed (derived from the recently fallen or spares stored in freeze boxes) and you will have at least a few Apothecaries in the company but you will not have the medical facilities on the world to do this under normal conditions.

Way to get around this is for there to be an old, as in late M32 old, Black Templar fortress with some old equipment gathering dust and a skeleton crew of monks descended from the serfs that were left behind tending the place.

Another way is to have an enclave of the Order Biologicus of the Adeptus Mechanicus live on that world. They would almost certainly not have the correct equipment to make new Astartes but they and the companies Apothecaries and Tech-Marines would be able to hammer something together that is just about adequate.

The 'A Warp Storm Did It' is over used. There are simpler ways to isolate a company of marines. Most obvious is disabling the ship and killing all the astropaths. Even if the ships is still space worthy its going to take 50+ years to get to the next system and that might not have anyone living in it and sending out radio waves will still have you twiddling your thumbs for decades and even then it will probably be declared a prank call.

After 600 years of being stuck on the same planet and beating down the occasional chaotic or rebellious uprising and the possible very lost ork mob there may not be any of the original 100+ marines sent to that world left. There are marines in the galaxy older than this but they are noted as exceptions. With the death of the last of the Founders they may take it into their head to believe themselves a fresh chapter in their own right. The High Lords can't deny them (in their eyes) as their authority comes from the blood of Dorn that flows in their veins. If they choose not to recognise this authority then this is a sign of their ignorance and nothing more. They are too stubborn to back down or contemplate that they might be wrong. The Imperial Authorities are unlikely to attack them as the resources used in doing this could be better used elsewhere. And they manufacture everything they use on their new homeworld so the Imperium can deny them fresh supplies all it wants.

This of course will deny them access to things like Terminator Armour, Telleporters, Dreadnaughts and other things of the sort. They are also not officially recognised as a chapter and so officially have no rights, the Inquisition has covert monitoring satellites dotted about your system and you aren't nor ever will be invited to the Feast of Blades.

What sort of Homeworld is it that they have? Are we talking Conan The Barbarian recruits or Marv from Sin City? Are they living in artificial environments or is the surface habitable?

These are just some rambling ideas brought upon by sleep deprivation feel free to disregard.
