Biohazard
The paintjob looks great but I have to say I really dislike the arms on that model. Specifically his left it just looks to short and chunky but thats a very minor point in what is a great looking mini. Good effort buddy :cuss Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/250861-gallons-death-guard/page/2/#findComment-3049332 Share on other sites
Gallon
My Terminators so far. Don't know if I'll make another with a scythe for the fifth one or use one of the heavy weapons. New 'dex on the horizon and it makes it a bit hard to decide. Been thinking as of now I can have a full "count as" lightningclaws / one with the chainfist . Suggestions ? http://i591.photobucket.com/albums/ss353/gallonhenrik/termies1.jpg http://i591.photobucket.com/albums/ss353/gallonhenrik/termies6.jpg http://i591.photobucket.com/albums/ss353/gallonhenrik/termies2.jpg http://i591.photobucket.com/albums/ss353/gallonhenrik/termies3.jpg http://i591.photobucket.com/albums/ss353/gallonhenrik/termies4.jpg http://i591.photobucket.com/albums/ss353/gallonhenrik/termies5.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/250861-gallons-death-guard/page/2/#findComment-3049603 Share on other sites
Gallon
Had some knife time over. I have a plan to build 30 Death Guard marines. I have one set of the mk2 and one mk3, two death guard upgrades and one box regular tactical marines and one box chaos space marines and some random backpacks and heads from maxmini. So the unortodox thing I did was to just cut everything off their sprue (probably stupid) and put in a big bag and then just mix everything together, sort of. I'm not using the torsos from the marines/chaos marines boxes. First tryout, 6 marines (I added some GS in the waist to make them a bit taller): http://i591.photobucket.com/albums/ss353/gallonhenrik/death2.jpg http://i591.photobucket.com/albums/ss353/gallonhenrik/death1.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/250861-gallons-death-guard/page/2/#findComment-3051242 Share on other sites
Captain Engelhardt
They look good, but how come they are all bent over like that? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/250861-gallons-death-guard/page/2/#findComment-3051287 Share on other sites
MagicMan
Lol, they do look a bit drunk.. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/250861-gallons-death-guard/page/2/#findComment-3051302 Share on other sites
Gallon
haha realised that when I saw them ... maybe their backpacks are too heavy :D? I like to pose models as they are shooting things coming in from above , mainly because when on the tabletop you can see their faces. But here I went a bit overboard. Need to think about that when building the rest of the guys :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/250861-gallons-death-guard/page/2/#findComment-3051444 Share on other sites
Gallon
Built some more Death guard and painted two of them. http://i591.photobucket.com/albums/ss353/gallonhenrik/death3-1.jpg http://i591.photobucket.com/albums/ss353/gallonhenrik/death5-1.jpg http://i591.photobucket.com/albums/ss353/gallonhenrik/death4.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/250861-gallons-death-guard/page/2/#findComment-3053614 Share on other sites
Subtle Discord
By themselves, the 'leaning back' models look a bit odd. Mixed with a proper unit, yelling the praises of grandfather Nurgle, and writhing in their blessings, they blend a bit better. I've found no matter what I do with the head, legs, and arms, if I try to keep the center mass relatively straight/even with the ground, they won't feel off. It's great, for variety, to have a few marines with weapons high, and/or head looking up. It adds movement to the group. But, think how a human would do it - if you aim/look-up, you bend/lift your neck/arms, and your torso stays level. Excellent work all around, this is going to be a wonderfully gruesome group of marines. Can't wait to see more paint, and anything else you might have up your sleeve. Circus Nurgling
They look good, but how come they are all bent over like that? They're dodging bullets from Agen... *cough* Inquisitor Smith. Kierdale
Looking good! The painted ones are really nice. And the hood on the Mk.2(3?) marine looks really good. Or is it going to be a flap of leprous flesh? As Subtle Discord said, mixed into a more normally-posed unit, the leaning ones will look good. Gallon
Thanks guys ! Decided to build the last terminator with a scythe in the end, leaving the heavy weapon in the bits box. And one with lightning claws and one with a ... chainfist. If I want to I'm thinking I can run them all as dual claws. Damned hard to get decent photos of my guys... otherwise I'd update more often. Started to rebuild and repaint my Defiler. And built some more plague marines. I think of my marines as old metal toys being left out in the garden, some will rust in a brownish way, some will be a bit more green and some will be more original coloured. Going for a dried up rot kind of :) http://i591.photobucket.com/albums/ss353/gallonhenrik/terrmies8.jpg http://i591.photobucket.com/albums/ss353/gallonhenrik/terrmies7.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/250861-gallons-death-guard/page/2/#findComment-3060752 Share on other sites
