An idea about using Codex:BA for a wolf army

Just wanted to add that a balanced force is usually more fun to play and play against than a "OMGZ LOOK AT WHAT I CAN DO!" lists. You'll either get blown to pieces from anti-tank weapons or you'll just plow through your opponent. I know this well as I played a 1,000 point game with Bjorn and two dreads. It looked cool, but there wasn't much to the list.

Also I am strongly opposed to "count as" armies that have their own codex. Why not just play Blood Angels if you like their list better? You could just play a successor chapter called the "Blood Hounds" or something. Paint them up Red with a lot of greys in their armor. It will lead to two things, less confusion and less players that really enjoy the cannon of 40k (like myself) giving you the stink eye for ruining the reputation of the Sons of Russ.

I too love the canon of the SW but I don't see it as against cannon to use C:BA to play a SW army if I do it in a wolfie way. I'm not trying to play BA just want to get a couple more dreads on the table for a game or two for the fun of it. I won't run any BA ICs and I am trying to come up with fluff justifications for the composition and names of the army.

I don't want tactical advice for BA. I was looking for ideas of how to do it in a fluffy way so I thought the the Aet was the place to be.

There is no "fluffy" way. The black rage and wulfen are different, the only way I could see a Space Wolves army with Furious Charge would be to play 13th company.

Your models=do as you please.

I've seen an awesome Ultramarines army using the Space Wolf Codex based on the Legions of Rome (Wolf Standards, et al).

The only qualm I'd have is if you used non PA for PA codices and visa versa. For example: using Orks and the SW Codex (too much confusion).

Using a PA Codex with (any) PA models shouldn't be confusing. After all, all PA armies have roughly the same gear, equipment, units, etc. Nobody should be too confused.

Unless your opponent is a half-wit.
