37cee Posted April 18, 2012 Author Share Posted April 18, 2012 I made some rivets for the torso and gun yesterday. Its height is about a third lager than my normal Defiler, so it should be (much) taller than a Decimator. Can I ask where you got the shoulder plates from? each plate i made of 3 shields of the Bretonian men at arms, had those leftovers when i made some Imperial Guard conversions. 37cee Posted April 23, 2012 Author Share Posted April 23, 2012 While i didn't work much on the Defiler conversion, again a lack of ideas, except some Rivets on the torso plate and the gun-arm, i managed to build alot models. 2 * Daemon Prince (both old metal models, some minor conversion done) 1* Chaos Lord 1* Chaos Sorcerer 34* Plague Marines (20 new with Forgeworld parts and 14 metal models) 5* Terminators (again Forgeworld, i might never use them but i really love the models) 2* Obliterators (need some GS to hide the nasty cleavings of the backplate) 1* Defiler (conventional design) The only models for the Deathguard that are unassembled are the Transports, but those should be done in the next couple of days. I will check all those models and clean them and finish some basic work for the bases, after that the will get primed. I will upload some pictures when the models are primed. 37cee Posted April 23, 2012 Author Share Posted April 23, 2012 By the way if there is any idea for the top "hatch" on the defiler i'd like to hear it. The rocket pod is merely a placeholder. If i might have made a different model the would have been place for the head. But in this version the Defiler is controled by the Marine that is chained to the engine, so that where the head is (memo maybe i need to add chains ... ). 37cee Posted April 23, 2012 Author Share Posted April 23, 2012 Its not that i want a hatch, but i will most likely use the small rhino hatch because it fits, although it is a bit larger, i used one when i tested how the torso looked best. Was hard to get out so i used the rocket launcher later to have something that i can pull out without much trouble. 1. Icon or banner might be nice, but the model is already fairly tall. 2. For the hatch I'd go with something simple like the closed rhino hatch. I'll think about it though see if I can come up with something more original. Good work so far though! 37cee Posted May 10, 2012 Author Share Posted May 10, 2012 Just a quick update, to get some pressure to continue: I've been sick the last weeks, so there wasn't anything done. I started semi assembeling the Rhinos when i have all done i will start conversion work on them. I'm pretty sure i wont get any further than building the kits and maybe some conversion work on the Lord, i'm going to London over the weekend to see the London Sevens. Still the building part reaches the end (for the moment) just 1 more Rhino to go (2 done), when those and the Chaos Lord are done with the conversion work, i will do some testing how i want the bases to look, and then its painting time... cheers Lars Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

37cee Posted May 29, 2012 Author Share Posted May 29, 2012 I didn't get anywhere close to what i wanted to achieve by now (damn you Diablo), but at leat im making some Progress again. Two of the three Rhinos are nearly finished with the conversion. I dont want to let them look to similar, one will have just battle damage and some rust along the hull, it it a "new" aquisition of the Death Guard and it will not have decayed that much. The second will be much more rusty, damage and "mutated". Those are the ones that are finished at the moment. The last one, the one i'm working on, will be the one that has seem the longest service with the Guard and so it will be the most decayed. When all models are done i will, check all for missed moldlines etc and then i will prime the entire army.
