The night lord termi and sorcerer from the 3.5 chaos dex or was it there IA I don,t recall.

seen on this page near the bottom.

I liked it because at the time every thing I was reading talked about the cost of using the warp so the emancipated look of the sorcerer spoke to me.

This. Not particularly fond of BT's but this image is iconic for me. "Come at me bro..."

The version of this one with the caption is one of my favorites. Certainly not one of the best, but still awesome in my eyes.

Let's see, I am torn between these four:

Not sure where the first one came from.

Second one is a fan-made colorization of the cover for Throne of Lies.

Last two are made by our very own Greyall! There's a colored version of Cravasson somewhere, but I can't find the URL.

Without a doubt, my single-most favorite 40k image.

So powerful, and I feel it sums up the Astartes to a "tee".

Well, there is one more pic I thought of... the pic from the Palace of Thorns section of the Cities of Death Codex.

Insane. The look on this Astral Claws' face speaks volumes of his situation. He seems to accept his fate as his homeworld, his Chapter, and his brothers die around him; the entire Imperium brutally tearing down everything he knew and loved piece by piece; yet he looks determined to rip every last scrap of vengance from his former allies, one bolt at a time. The sheer desperation of this pic speaks to me, and has helped inspire me many, many times in the past.

Karl Kopinski is my friggin' hero....

Whoa, Heathens, I didn't know that one, thanks...such awesomeness, Kopinski and Dainton are masters of the 'realistic' Space Marines - which means they're my heroes as well.

Also, a thank you very much, Saresk and DeathKnight, for 'nominating' my work, though I honestly do not see it as worthy - not yet, at least.

While not an epic battle scene or inch-by-inch-detailed lord, here's the art piece that really drove 40K into my mind. The Daemonworld art of the Word Bearers is very meaningful, too.

More recently, Raymond Swanland showed everyone how to make Space Marines fluid.

Finally, the best depiction of Khârn to date

Edit: Sorry for posting the images instead of links, my very bad, Brother Tyler.

Okay, guys, I'm getting really tired of turning hot-linked images into links. Please remember that we don't allow hot-linking images from other sites except for image-sharing sites such as ImageShack and Photobucket. This is a courtesy to those other sites, reducing server strain. If you want to post the actual images, please upload them to either an image-sharing site or your free B&C gallery. Otherwise, please just post the URL, allowing other members to follow the link to the site to see the image.

This one is my favorite from the 40K:RT rulebook. To me it sums up what it is to be a Space Marine.

It's on photobucket so I guess it is okay to post the picture.

Also loved the Space Hulk Deathwing expansion artwork. There was a great picture of a Deathwing Captain dueling a Chaos Terminator Captain in the White Dwarf that accompanied the release of Deathwing. Wish I could find that picture.

Come at me bro!

Horus vs. Emperor

Agree about Karl Kopinsky, he's one of the most iconic GW artists.

Unless I greatly disremember, he did this:

Probably my favourite artist doing 40k work at the moment is Jon Sullivan. Every one of his black library cover pieces is jaw-dropping.

Jutami's 40k stuff is great, especially that sorcerer.

My new overall favourite piece of art is this, from the new codex:

I don't know the artist, unfortunately, or if there's a higher resolution version anywhere. Anyone?

This one made me want to do Night Lords (getting round to it a decade later...)

This Ultramarine one is a good one - I liked the story that went with it, too.

This one I think evokes the model and the background the best for any character with rules:

Where is this one from?

Here is where I got it from http://www.funnyjunk.com/channel/warhammer...nkind/sqebGfd/9 basically it just popped up whilst I was googling stuff, it looks like actual 40k artwork but then again could just be fan made.

the BT one was from a wallpaper site can't remember name obviously fan made though very good
