mactire
im putting together some skyclaws and im wondering where you can get those little clear plastic sticks that make them airborne or if anyone has any alternative suggestions pics would help. thanks Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/250959-flying-bases/ Share on other sites
henrywalker
something like a cocktail stick or similar painted black (or white on a snow base) often ends up looking better to be honest. no one notices the little black stick but they do notice the weird shiny clear thing with air bubbles in it. Commander Sasha
GW sell them in packs of 5 Here I had to buy plenty for my flying rats! (see my sig) I recommend pinning flying bases: a dressmaking pin, chopped to ~10mm; use a pin drill to drill a 0.6mm hole down the end of the base, and a matching one in the model. Much tougher! Here's an example of mine: http://i1203.photobucket.com/albums/bb398/dandanthelig/Warhammer/Gargoylebase.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/250959-flying-bases/#findComment-3042751 Share on other sites
RebG
Have a shop around and see if you can find clear plastic toothpicks, they're more narrow than the flying bases so it'd be a little more subtle. Failing that I'd go with Commander Sasha's idea Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/250959-flying-bases/#findComment-3043447 Share on other sites

The Ginger Avenger
I was planning on doing something similar when I get around to doing my Assault Marines, but to disguise the pins I was thinking about using cotton wool to look like the jum pack's exhaust. Just an idea... Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/250959-flying-bases/#findComment-3045262 Share on other sites
